That's where Padi's instructions come in.... but first we have to find your "little TVs" that are meant to be on the blue bar at the bottom..... I think we've been here before....

JJ in the right hand blue strip bottom of screen, you should see little icons one like two very tiny tv screens, hover your mouse there it should give you connection speed, unless you are connected to sheep power.

Sorry Padi...just had a look...nothing there except for the usual "mute" icon and a few others like Anti-spyware, Skype, etc. No tiny TV screens to be seen.

Yes, I do have that expansion icon, but when it opens up, I see no TV screens. Shall try the Java download later this evening. Gotta rush off to work now.

Bye and thanks for all your help, guys.

ADSL and PC here. I haven't the slightest idea what the top speed for ADSL here is these days, but it doesn't make a difference to me since I haven't even seen the need to go from 802.11b to 802.11g. It'll make a total of one second's difference when I load up the next funny picture of JJ, and I'm not that pressed for time.

The Linksys WRT54GS wireless routers are very good and cheap AND you can tinker endlessly with the firmware. I've got Talisman running on it now and this is like a dream. (It's Linux based). You can boost the output power and have a real router under your fingertips. Going to run a VPN on it so that I can work on my own PC while at the office. In my country 20 Mbps. ADSL is all the rage now but I'll soon be on 20 Mbps. cable with 100 Mbps. on the horizon. Fast Ethernet over cable.

OK, I've bored the pants off al of you now, sorry for this

Frans, please don't post a thread like this again. I was just beginning to think I was adequate with the use of my computer. Now after reading these threads I feel to stupid to use a calculator let alone a computer. Maybe I can join a nice, low tech, pen pal forum.

No you haven't, but did you know that if you click on the Calendar icon at the top, it will display a calendar? I have more tips just like this one on the way, so pay attention all.

Go search for #4, but here is #5. Under the quick links on the tool bar you can find all of todays posts, so if you logged out without reading them all, you can still find them.

Many more to come. (I am JJ, hear me BAAHHHH)
