Thanks everyone. I think the Daytona hits a sweet spot of price, looks / design, durability and function. It makes a great daily wear. I also love the power reserve. I can put my Patek on Friday evening for the weekend, and the daytona's still going on Monday morning ready for the week.

So, very happy to have finally bought a replacement. I love that there have only been incremental changes - my new Daytona is pretty much identical to the one I bought about 10 years ago. The only changes I can tell are an improved clasp and chromalight lume. It feels like I've got my old watch back!
Congrats Russ - that is a great combo!! I myself went the other way and got the Daytona and am now looking for a black dial 5980!
