YM II definitely, I,once considered of buying DEEP BLUE but I thought that was not necessary and the bezel on the deep blue is black, it should have been a blue hue

Two different characters.

YMII with PCLs is Miami
DSSD Blue is like the Keys, probably Key West.

If you are more Miami, go with YMII, more the Keys...go with DSSD blue.

Depends on your preference of either wanting/not wanting that "Rolex Look". I got the YMII, because it doesn't even look like your "typical" Rolex. My students at school thought my YMII was "cool", not realizing it was a Rolex. For me, when it comes to functions, date/no date, or the 10-second function for yachts, who cares. The looks of the YMII is rather unique, and I buy watches for their looks and design. On the other hand, to me the D-blue, which is a nice watch, has that Rolex sports look that an be spotted/identified a mile away like on any Submariner, GMT, Sea Dweller. I would get the YMII, and then a classic and less-expensive Submariner for "the Rolex" look.

I would say DSSD. You could try to get used and put a thousand or two back in your pocket. Quite simply because I have seen the value hold very well for that particular model. However, can't go wrong either way!

The No Date is my sub of choice, so I'd go with the YMII.

However, I'm not in love with the YACHT-MASTER II splashed across the bezel.

The Yachtmaster II movement is unique and much more interesting then most people realize.

1. It's based on a Daytona movement.
2. Rotating bezel serves function to set regatta timer.
3. Flyback function resets minute hand forward if regatta second hand is past 30 sec or resets back the minute hand if regatta hand is under 30 seconds.
4. Regatta count down timer resets back to 10 min instantly with one push or whatever counter was previously set.
5. Regatta seconds hand can be used as a counter like the bezel on a Submariner by stopping the hand on the main minute hand.

Yacht-Master II really is a tool watch built for a very specific function. For me, with my affinity for sailing it is a no-brainer. I know of no other watch with this complication. Truly singular. So much novelty = interesting. I'm considering trading up from my Daytona and even prefer the YM II over the new Daytona 500.
