Definately got your priorities in the right order and your Sub will feel all the more special after waiting so long to own one. Congrats!

Congrats, and great decision making!

You have my favorite Sub - the 14060 2-liner with tritium. Sweet!

Uplifting story. I'm sure that had you got the watch at age 20 you wouldn't have appreciated it half as much as you do now. Also prefer the no date dial. Enjoy.

Well Done! Family comes first. Great that your patience and self-sacrifice has been rewarded.

I have an extra link that may or may not work. I bought a big lot of random Rolex stuff on eBay and one stainless steel link was included. I think it's from a 1996 Sub - but its yours if you want it, free. I sent you a PM.

Thank you for the magnanimous gesture ! I've sent you a PM.

Thanks to all of you. Its amazing how much everyone here is so wonderful. Best forum on the web!!

As a child I read old National Geographic magazines. I've always wanted a Submariner. I woke up this morning and it's sitting next to me on the nightstand. I thought that I was dreaming.

Now my wife wants her own Rolex. Here we go!

Good man putting your family first. What goes around, eventually comes back around and now you've got your grail. Well earned and enjoy.

A heart warming story!!! Congratulations on the sub. It was a very early choice for me as well!!! Make certain to have it pressure tested prior to diving in, btw. Here'e mine to say, "congratulations!!!"

How lucky that watch is to have found your wrist! How luckier still is your mother to have such a son.
