just to chime in and correct your generalization.
number 8 is not a symbol of anything for other asian people except chinese (probably including people from singapore and taiwan). other asian countries have their own lucky number.

I think the black dial has a better contrast and easier to read.

I think they both look great..
I'm usually a black dial guy, but this is one reference where I would lean to the white...

I like the white dial because the orange indicies and lighting bolt stand out more. If you're looking for something different in a Rolex sport/tool watch the white dial looks most unique, I think. There's nothing that looks ANYTHING like it....But both are beautiful timepieces; cool to see together, THANKS.

I am always partial to black dialed watches. I think the look is more versatile with different outfits.
