The AP is gorgeous and I wouldn't flip it at a loss to buy one of the most ubiquitous gold Rolex. However, if it's the Smurf, BLRO, or any gold Daytona, then maybe - these can all fly as dress watches just as much as the DD can.
Man if we could only have them all right! I would really love to own a smurf one day. I love the weight and look of WG. The blue is beautiful and the watch looks great dressed up or down. Just can't part with my LVC and know having two watches that look relatively similar would drive me crazy when there are so many beautiful options out there!

Maybe I wait and just try to figure out how to own them all lol! Really don't want to part with the ROO but making the move does make sense in a lot of ways.

It's a great idea. I would take that group for sure but I just don't think the budget is there for it. The BB is just not worth enough to factor into the equation.

Afterwards, maybe add the 15400 or even add the ROO back at some point...that would be super nice.
Again, maybe this involves some patience and time. Perhaps with some saving and smart planning I could have the ROO, DD40 and LVC

The ROO just looks better on your wrist is my opinion.

Of the choices I vote keep what you have, do nothing.

Personally, I don't think adding a dress watch is a great plan for sake of doing so. I added a lange 1815 and quickly realized it didn't really fit my lifestyle. I realize the DD40 is different but it doesn't wear sporty like an LVc or ROO.

Seems you've had a lot of sports watches in SS and maybe that's for good reason? They speak to you

Hang on to that 42! It looks so damn good in your wrist shots. I know it's tempting to chase the next one but that piece really stands out in a good way on you

Hey Chadri. I say keep what you have, it's a perfect, concise collection. That ROO looks way too good on you to let it go. If you need a suit watch, use the LV. It's pretty enough to wear on dressy occasions.

I'm also going to say hang onto what you have! There's something so special about an Audemars Piguet Chronograph that not even the Day-Date can match in my humble opinion. I can totally see why it's so tempting because the Day-Date is also a great watch but not the same to me.

It is an easy one for me. Get the DD 40. It is a great watch that covers the PM itch in your collection. Buy right and if in the end it does not work out you can move on and not loose a lot.

Have you considered an AP SS bracelet for your Chrono APRO? I was wearing my AP diver today which I really like. I bought an AP SS bracelet for it to be able to dress it up more. You may not like the idea but I think it could look pretty sharp. I'm guilty of not putting mine on yet so I don't have any pictures of it on a bracelet. There is obviously nothing wrong with a RG DD. I just prefer the sports watches. I also prefer SS at this point.
We're on the same page! No insult taken in anyway, and didn't think you were trying to insult in anyway either.

So it's funny you mention the bracelet. I've been in touch with APSC, have the part number and email ready to send to order the bracelet. I just keep going back and forth about it as well is these other ideas so i never pulled the trigger. I think the bracelet would definitely dress the watch up and with out a doubt breath new life into the watch. Just not sure it will check all boxes.

If I end up going with "D" (Do nothing and keep what I have) I will definitely be at least buying the bracelet. If I end up adding the 15400 then I almost certainly won't get the ROO a bracelet, as I would (should) be quite content with one bracelet AP and one Strap AP.

Get that bracelet mounted man!!!! I want to see some pics lol.

I just ordered one but it's going from Clearwater to the ny boutique and then to me. Convoluted but I walked into ap ny and asked for one. I'm having second thoughts because so many people seem to dislike the bracelet on the diver. Thing is, I usually go against the grain so I think it's probably right up my alley

really? I love the way it looks on both diver and ROO chrono. Do you have a white or black dial?

My concern is more about how it will fit on my wrist. It's a bit of an unknown for me and I feel as if my wrist is about as small as you can comfortably get for my 42mm ROO. On the strap it seems to work well, but on bracelet... who knows?

Black dial.

When I was researching the diver on bracelet the overwhelming responses were "no." I think this is because of how superb the Diver strap is. I know what you mean regarding how it will wear with the bracelet. Tough to find a 42 on bracelet to try on. I should have tried on the 42 RG on bracelet at ap ny when I was there.

That's a good idea! Maybe I'll do that before I commit to the bracelet. Maybe before I commit to a trade or new watch entirely as well, right!? Probably makes sense. ;)

I would! In my case I'll have an hour plus drive to get to another AP AD

Not an AP fan. But even if I was, I'd let it go. That DD is a work of art!!!
