I forgot my BB has the snowflake until I read this thread. I think they're great and what sets it apart for it's own identity.

Not a fan of the flakes. Especially when paired with round indices.

Initially, wasn't crazy about them, I'll be honest.
But, they work really well with the watch they're designed for. They have grown on me. And I especially like the change up they provide in the collection...kind of like a breath of fresh air. |

Hate them as well. Just personal preference though. Good watches I'm sure.

When first looking at watches I didn't like them, but I was shocked how much they grew on me. I've seen quite a few BB in person and they just look awesome. Now I wouldn't buy a Tudor without them.

Not to hijack this thread but I absolutely love that strap. I've always thought of the BB blue as having a law enforcement vibe with the colors, the new version even more so with the shield on the dial. Well done!

The hands were why I bought the BBB.... Says Tudor all the way. Black bezel with Mercedes hands is pretty much a Submariner. I went Tudor to be different from all the Rolex Subs out there. To this day, I've never seen anyone wearing a Tudor in person.... Can't say that about a Submarner....

Thanks, I agree they look best with the square hour markers of the Pelagos. I also have a BBN, and I think they make less sense on it (juxtaposed with the round markers on that watch) than on this piece, or on the snowflake subs of days gone by. Still, there's enough I like about the BBN dial for me to overlook any alleged shortcomings. 👍 |

Not a fan of Snowflake hands, but love Tudor. I bought a Northflag to avoid them 😊

I like them a lot. An authentic and practical 1960s design, produced by Tudor on the recommendation of French Navy divers for greater presence underwater. They glow more brightly in the dark than Merc hands, with more uninterrupted surface area.

Snowflake hand + round indices = Fail.
Snowflake hand + square indices = true Tudor = Win. |

Snowflake hands and round indices worked pretty well on the 94010 back in the 1970s. Kind of a transitional look.

I hate them at a visceral level... they are revolting. I feel physically not well when I see them.
Strange that watch hands could evoke a response, but these do. |

Snowflake Hands
Love the Snowflake style. Yes, Mercedes is even more "Heritage" than Snowflake, but IMO when Tudor changed their Submariner to use Snowflake is really when they began diverging from Rolex and charting their own path - it was a defining moment for them, which obviously continues to the present day. Rolex is the conservative parent and Tudor is it's division willing and wanting to branch away from Rolex as far as design and using materials such as titanium (Pelagos), bronze (BB). Rolex is much too traditional and would never sway from their standard watch lines. If Tudor went back to Mercedes hands and Crown stem, then the criticism would be from many that it looks like a Rolex, with nothing defining it as a Tudor other than the name stamped on the face. I believe if your want a Diver with Mercedes hands buy a Submariner. Tudor has some of the hottest watches out there so this philosophy is serving them well.
