After 30 plus years I became a one watch guy a little over a year ago.
It's hard to explain but I seem to enjoy the one watch I have more now, then when I had a dozen???

More is less imo.

I have one, and wear it all the time other than at work.

I own only one Rolex. 116234 silver dial with oyster bracelet. Perfect for every occasion. However, My daily wear is a Tudor Northflag. The DJ is too much for a military uniform. I tried it daily, but it attracted too much attention.

There is an allure to be an one watch guy and of course, can't beat a Rolex to take on the daily adventures. But alas, we all know why we are here...can't satisfy the addiction ;)

It's just so hard to cover every occasion with 1 watch. A night at the casino or wedding needs some gold while hanging out running errands requires a sub variant. I suppose a two tone piece would work, but I refuse to believe it.

I respect the discipline to hold to one. Unfortunately, I do not have the strength to do so.

Me! I know it's probably been said before but the Rolex I was given holds soo much sentimental value to me and I never plan on replacing it. Until I hand it down to one of my sons.

I have the 116610ln as my any occasion watch. I only have/need one Rolex. This one checks all the boxes for me. It's that versatile.

I am a one Rolex guy for now. I have a black Explorer 2. While I absolutely love it, I'll soon be flipping for an SD4K. That will be only for a few years. I'm glad I reAd this thread because it appears to be a versatile one and only.

However in a couple of years I'd like to add an Explorer or Date-Just. That would cover all of the bases and leave a great watch for my son and daughter.

I'm done with sport watches at this point in my life. Right now I have a Datejust II and find it to feel comfortable enough for every day use and look perfect with every outfit.

just one (a 'first edition' 1655) + a couple of less expensive watches (Timex Expedition & a department-store Bulova).

still keeping an eye out for a well-preserved 6238/Pre-Daytona...my personal Rolex 'grail'.

Just one for almost 30 years, a SS OP. I can only wear one at a time, so there is no need for a second.

That is funny, you are overthinking it a bit imho, perhaps we simply like the design, history and quality ?
Having one or more doesn't matter to appreciate Rolex.

I bought my one and only to be exactly that; my one and only. Then someone bought me an Apple Watch, and I tried to be a two watch guy. Every time the AW touched my wrist though, I immediately looked back at my Daytona and thought, "....NOOOPE!"

MaaAaAaAaAAaaAaaybe one day...maybe...I'll buy another. Such as a lottery win.

EDIT: I bought this as my one and only; but I love this community of enthusiasts as well. True, this community is one of enablers and one-up'ers, and I have now caught wind of many references I would LOVE to own; but we all share a passion for a well-engineered piece of interactive and practical art. I love the history of my watch, of Rolex, of timekeeping, of engineering and innovation; the list does on. This is so much more than a piece of jewelry for me. It is a memento. It is a symbol. It is a reminder. It is a useful accessory. It's also damned pretty to look at.

I bought this watch for my own reasons and for my own self-pleasure. I joined this forum to geek out with fellow geeks, and I couldn't be more pleased with my actions and their resulting consequences.

One Rolex here as well but I now limit myself to one nice watch a year and another Rolex is way down the list for now.
