My stolen '67 MF 5513
Dear Friends,
During the night of July 11th, my '67 Meters First 5513 was stolen in a jewelry store heist in the Greater Milwaukee region of Wisconsin. I have written previous forum posts about this watch: http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=455843 http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=461974 The watch was purchased from Andrew Shear this year. The serial is #1,689,158. The watch was in the process of a service, and was disassembled at the time of the theft. The thieves stole the box that contained: midcase, caseback, bezel and insert, new 700 crown/tube(I had sourced one NOS and it was installed), and the original Superdome crystal in place. The dial, hands, and movement are in a secure location. I have hesitated to share this openly, but several members have encouraged me to get the word out to a larger group. I am obviously saddened by the loss. This was my birthyear "Grail" 5513. I have a very small collection (now two to be exact), and this was the jewel. I share this story in hopes of a possible recovery. If you all would please keep your eyes open while on eBay, at pawn shops, sales forums, etc. , I would be extremely thankful. I am forever the optimist, but we all know they likely tossed my parts in the trash. Additionally, I will want to source a '67 of the same quality for a replacement. Please feel free to reach out if you know of any, happen to stumble across one in the future, or if you have a '67 that you were considering letting go.
