In my experience, they no longer require you to take it off. Previously, I simply wrapped it in my jacket and put it in the tray.

Nope. Never take off my wedding rings either. I've never been asked to take off my watch at the airport.

I used to and never thought anything of it. Well then reading some posts here I said next time I fly won't take it off. I had to travel for business earlier this week. I left it on and not one question. I will never take it off again unless really pushed.

I usually put the watch away in a padded case on the carry on prior but on the way from Taiwan to Japan a month back I was in a hurry and forgot to do so.....security made me take it off as it kept triggering the detector @ the airport. I cooperated and they were extra friendly and careful with the watch (was wearing a 16710 on my travels) letting me take my time to place it nicely on the wallet (inside the tray) prior to going through on the conveyor belts.

Sounds good - I normally go through wearing it without any questions, but I have been told to remove it maybe two or three times. I'll try that if I get asked again.

I used to take of my watch and put it in my briefcase - for the last few months (and more than a dozen flights) I've left it on with no problems.

I never take my watch off. I've never been asked to take it off either. For the last few years I've used TSA pre-check and the security is not nearly as strict. You don't have to remove your shoes, take your laptop out of the bag or any of the other crazy things. Also the line is way shorter

I NEVER take off my watches. TSA tried to get me to remove my Pt DD2 today and put it through the X-ray. I refused (I wasn't traveling with a bag to put it in) and asked for a pat down instead. Pissed him off for some reason. Supervisor came over and said I was fine. This was in a pre-check line.

I just put mine in a portable watch case and stuff it to the bottom of my backpack. Problem solved.

Made of stainless steel. Doesn't set off metal detectors. Leave it on.

I used to take it off and put in an Oakley case up until a year ago. Now I leave it on, never been asked to take it off. TSA has asked to look at the clasp after going through the body scanner. No problem.

In the past, it would be in my carry on until I pass security. Wore mine yesterday through TSA without any issues.

I never did up until this morning when I was at the Vancouver airport. The xray kept beeping until I took my watch off, which was the first time for me! Must be a different sensitivity setup? The security held my watch while I was going through agaib and she said "it's a pretty heavy watch". I smiled and moved on...

I keep it on, but on some airports the security insists.
Best is to check out passengers ahead of you, if they are asked to remove their watches than I store mine in my carry on luggage.
Never I will put it loose in the tray. It takes less than a second to steal it out of a tray. Not gonna happen to me.
