Why are some people discouraged with PCLs?

I likes me some PCL's!

In my opinion swirls and scratches add character and personality to the watch. I like them and leave it as is, i do not care too much! I have the watch lightly polished very few years. You should see my wife's daily wearer it looks like it was brushed on purpose and looks like it never had PCL's

Scratches hurt but they also make you tough, so like the man said when you trade places you become a karate man, and karate men bleed on the inside.

I don't care about scratches. I just don't like the way they look. Some people like chrome wheels, some prefer matte or black. No biggie.

I have a YM with, and a sub without. For day to day wear I choose the Sub.

Because scratches on PCL are more noticeable.

It's simple a matter of taste but I don't much care for polished center links. Moreover, the polished clasp scratches all too easily.

I like the PCLs on my BLNR.

I don't think that PCLs scratch more easily than brushed links and I don't think that scratched PCLs look any worse than scratched brushed links. In fact, I don't think scratched links look bad at all.

I think that most people never get close enough to my watches to obsess over my bracelet links, brushed or polished.

Like everything else in the watch-o-sphere, links are a matter of preference.

I guess I came to terms with this issue when I bought my first car. When you start out with smooth, shiny surfaces in a world of risks, you're setting yourself up for some disappointment down the road.

You just have to deal with it and move on. There will be more.

I like them, it adds another dimension to the bracelet. Even with scratches and swirlies on them they still look polished, only the wearer notices.

Overall I like the look of PCLs on everything. However, IMO PCLs on the GMTII just do not look correct with the brushed lugs.

Exactly. To each, our own obsessions. Rarely wore my Daytona until I had the bracelet brushed. Fell in love with it again and it's now on my wrist more often than not.

I love the PCLs on my DJII. I think it really makes the whole piece pop and ties everything together with the blend of brushed/polished finishes. They may scratch somewhat easily, but they look sooooo damn nice when touched up with a polishing cloth.

I haven't owned a Rolex with them since my YM a long time ago. I am old school and prefer the brushed but I would gladly own one with PCL's as a Daytona or BLNR will be next. I would never brush them because I don't care for modifications at all excepting a strap change or Nato.

I'm with Tom. I love the pcls on my 116710. I really like how they age with the watch. I think all the nicks, swirls, dings, and scratches enhance a watch. You'd have to be well within my personal space to notice the patina on my pcls. One of these days I'll upload some pictures. What photo sharing service do most of you use?

I love pcls and they look great with the tiny micro scratches. You should have seen my blro after 1 month before I sold it . People were telling me "it looks older than one month" and they thought I was lying, hahaha. I guess I am just a master desk diver.

I like them on YG models. SS looks so much more tooly without them. Just strange to use SS for its durability then put a scratchmagnet finish on it imo. I prefer the Zenith Daytona for its brushed surfaces.
