Daytona anniversary edition (116506) not a great seller?

I stopped by a Rolex boutique yesterday asking about the white gold 2016 Daytona (not out yet) but they happened to mention the platinum one and I was surprised to learn it had an MSRP of US$75000. The surprising part is I've seen these pre-owned for under $50k. Is this typical for precious metal models? Or is this one just not popular?

I happen to like the ice blue dial. Pairing it with brown wouldn't have been my first choice however.
