As for the date I guess it's just a habit to have watches with them but I only need it for two things in my life. Writing a check...... ever since online banking I do that about a dozen times a year!! Signing documents, which I do on a signature pad so it's all generated & if I actually sign one with a pen I'm sure whoever I'm signing it for will know the date or I can look at my phone!!! Lol

I've owned the JLC in the past and I'd definitely choose it over the B&R. The case is wonderfully done. The movement is accurate and well constructed. And I very much enjoyed the aesthetics. It has a vintage feel without veering too far into tacky-ville. Another watch I'd consider along with it is the Blancpain Bathyscape Chrono.

I don't wear suits much at all but I also think the JLC can be dressed up or down. That was one thing I liked about my Moonwatch. It was great with shorts or a tie!! Having to wind it & no date made it short lived in my collection.
I actually like manual wind a lot... creates sort of a bond between you and the watch. Love automatics too... but to me, manual isn't a deal breaker.

I've had two manual in the past. The moonwatch & a titanium Panerai. Both of them were cool for there own reasons & not cool for others!!

For a daily watch there's something to be said about grabbing it of the nightstand & starting my day. It's just one more thing I don't have to remember or fuss with in the morning. As a weekend watch or special ocation watch it wouldn't bother me but I try to keep my Mon-Fri as simple as possible!!! Lol

Yeah not a huge fan of the fuax vintage!! But B&R does offer it both ways. I do think the JLC is a better watch. But trying to explore all options before I pull the trigger!! I did look at a Blancpain its cool & has a date but not sure I like it better or the same as JLC. If there's one thing I've learned go with your first choice or it'll be up for sale & taking a loss in a short time!!! Lol

When I think of a chronograph only the speed master and Daytona come to mind.

Out of the two in the OP I'd say the JLC

The more thought I put into this makes me think speedy auto or another Rolex sports model. Since I'm fickle about watches sometimes I feel like I can't go wrong with another Rolex if I don't like it I won't loose much & everyone likes a speedy!!!

Personally I would never buy that B&R, the design is unbalanced IMO.

JLC is the way to go.

We will always keep finding things if we keep looking. The trick is to stop looking when you have something good ( good luck with that)

I'd pick the JLC, if pricing was similar. Doesn't Sinn make something along these lines-- maybe the 103?
