New arrival - Lange 1815 Anniversary Edition
Hello everyone here at TRF! I just wanted to take a minute and share a couple pics of my newest watch, the A. Lange & Sohne 1815 200th Anniversary edition 40mm.
I have always been a huge fan of Lange and have had several come in and out of my collection over the years. But I just had to jump at the chance to pick up this anniversary model. I've always been drawn to limited edition runs and this particular edition was limited to 200 in honey gold and 200 in the platinum version. Having now mostly white metal pieces, the honey gold seemed the natural choice. I have to say, the honey gold is a thing of beauty. It's much more of a "mellow" look than traditional yellow gold, so it doesn't seem to jump out as much. I just can't pull of anything that's too ostentatious, so this seems to give me the look of gold without being too over-the-top. Plus (now I never claim to be a metallurgist) Lange claims that their proprietary honey gold offers much increased durability and incredible scratch resistance. In fact, according to Lange, this formula offers scratch resistance equal to or slightly greater than stainless steel. So overall it really seems like the best of both worlds. And lastly, this piece has been keeping time more accurately than any watch I own. Literally down to the second! I put it on a custom ostrich strap just to keep the original brand new. The color of the strap adds a hint of informality to the watch and seems to make it fit right in regardless if I'm wearing a suit & tie, or jeans and a polo. The 40mm size is the perfect fit for my wrist and gives off just enough wrist presence. Anyway, just wanted to share this story and a couple pics with my friends here at TRF. Have a great day everyone! |
