Hi , Im in the UK and a newbie here but i have a 1940's Pepsi, with its history, seems pricing on these are all over the place, Can anyone;
1, point me in the right direction to get it valued?
2, is it worth sending to Rolex to get serviced ?
3, would i be correct & assume Rolex can /will authenticate it as a WWII issue?
( I do have lots of paperwork relating it to StalagIII).
4. I guess i need a website to post it's picture, etc?

Apologies if this is posted in the wrong place. (Damn newbies).

You should start a new thread in the vintage section, and upload photos. No such thing as a WWII Pepsi, though. Must be something else.

For civilians the Pepsi may have been released in the 50’s. But when where they first given to WWII pilots ? IFAIK they were first given to WWII pilots prisoners in StalagIII the “Great escape” camp. They were Given and told when they got themselves back home, settled and sorted in a job they would pay back the value of the watch to Rolex ( about £150 +- cost) These were only given to RAF pilot -Prisoners along with another model ( the usually seen version of the time, The ones we usually see).
I have original paperwork in respect to that, including receipts from Rolex regarding repairs to the said same watch. So my question when was the Pepsi really first produced ? If anyone is still in the forum?

OP, we need better pictures to really be of much help. Based of those two images, I would buy the BLRO. The LN appears to have some weird polishing or denting changing the case at the lower left lug.


Lol - I just noticed the thread date. I'm pretty sure the op has made his choice by now. Also, there were no GMTs released specially for WWII aviators. The watch didn't exist until PanAm went to Rolex seeking an aid for the new class of rapid time zone crossers who were born with the arrival of the jet age.

LN is the most versatile and I have a number of these with all the bezel variations. Pepsi is iconic but just isn’t as good an every day watch as the LN to my eyes.
My LN variant gets the most wrist time.

Darn, I'd love to have that deal(s) sitting in front of me right now...I'd want both, but ultimately I'd go for the II and find a pepsi insert.
