Yeah I wrote a response as to why I didn't go with that a few posts up. I like the slimmer look of the 14060, however it feels like a flimsier watch and not as high quality (I know blasphemy on TRF, I still love the pre ceramic sub.)

I also liked the upgrades like ceramic bezel, blue lume, glide lock, solid end links etc etc. I couldn't see myself going from all those upgrades and spending $5k on a watch that didn't have them.

Who knows that might still be what I end up doing. Thank you for your response.

I do agree though it has to be comfortable if I am going to wear it every day (until I get my second Rolex, currently the only other watches I kept are a Movado that was a gift from my wife, a smart watch, and a G-Shock)

I appreciate the response and I'm just sad after wanting this sub for so many years and finally getting it.

I thought about going for the BLNR (I actually tried it on a week ago but forgot to take pictures ) It looked great on my wrist like I believe the sub does, but I think I will run into the same issue with the big maxi case on the GMT after wearing for a couple weeks.

Hopefully me messing with the link positions will make the sub fit comfortably and this will all be a non issue. If that happens I will still be buying the YM but not right now.

Did you look at the sea dweller at all? Ceramic bezel, smaller lugs kind of best of both worlds, modern watch with traditional features. I'd consider this in place of the Sub before the YM. That said I do really like that YM, there blue dial and red accents are just terrific. A great piece to add to a sub or SD in your collection.

Have you tried wearing the sub a little higher - above your wrist bone?

I recon you need to get the bracelet properly sized then see how you feel

I agree - you are wearing it too close to the hand. I wear mine a bit closer to the elbow, below the wrist bone, and not as tight as you do. Maybe you should try that.

There's not many people that a Sub won't look good on. Both look absolutely fine, although based on those specific photos and your skin tone - I would say the YM.

Yeah I heard that and I thought "Yes it solves all of my problems!"
I tried one on at the AD and it also did not fit right... I think it's because my wrist is not flat and I need tapered lugs unfortunately because that eliminates a lot of my favorite watches in the world (the sub, the gmt, etc)

Yeah I tried wearing it above my wrist bone and the problem then becomes (you can't see in the picture but when I make a fist or I type I have muscles that protrude and push the watch in funny directions.) I guess I could stop going to the gym and that could solve my problem lol.

It is a tad more comfortable up there (will take some getting used to because I've worn all my watches below the wrist bone my entire life.) it just sticks up in a weird way due to those forearm muscles.

Yeah that's how I've always worn my watches, I'm trying it a bit higher but read the response to the quote above this one.

I'm going to get my screw driver and take another link out and see how that does. Right now with where I wear my watch when the glide lock is all the way in the watch is snug but not super tight, if I push the glide lock all the way out the watch is SUPER loose. I am hoping and praying that once I remove another link it fixes my problem.

Thanks a ton for all the responses I really appreciate it! :cheer:

They both look great but I'm bias about the sub, so I would prefer the sub

How about a coin toss? Both look good on you. Although like some of the others, I'm leaning toward the Sub.

If it wasn't a comfort issue I would 100% go with the Submariner since it is my grail watch. Unfortunately I am not sure if I would be able to love it like I should since it is uncomfortable to me.

I am trying to wear it up a little higher on my wrist to see if that makes a difference. I'm not sure it looks as good as it does lower on my wrist but I'm trying to get used to it.

Here is what it looks like higher up on my wrist.

I can't imagine any watch being comfortable when you wear it on top of your wrist bone.

It's above my wrist bone, if I wear it any higher than that it looks super weird. I guess it could be that I'm just not used to it.

should it be all the way up here for above the wrist bone? http://imgur.com/a/5W3cA

Comfort is king.

Do you think you may want to loosen the sub a little? Seems tight from the photo

Both look great. I see Subs all the time. YM, not so much, especially that particular version.

The BLNR is very comfortable...
I have a blue face Sub C also and they don't wear the same ...
both comfortable but different... you might want to
try one on and see how it feels on the wrist ...

Hmmm... From pictures I have put them side by side in Photoshop and the lugs look the same, I tried on the BLNR and it did seem comfortable (just like the 114060 did at the AD before I bought it.) I thought I would run into the same issue that after a few days wearing it all day it would also become uncomfortable.

Okay you sold me, I'm going to my AD soon and I'm gonna try it on again and get it sized and really spend some time with it. If that watch is more comfortable than the sub then it solves all my problems because I love that BLNR!

Thanks.

The BLNR is my daily and if sized right it's super
comfortable !!!
Plus you have the easy link for an extra 5 mm of
Adjustment on the fly ...
For me it's very comfortable sometimes
I forget it's on my wrist...
Then I look at my wrist to make sure it's still there...

Btw... the lugs I believe are a little slimmer on the
BLNR than the Sub C... it wears a tad smaller but it
Looks fantastic on the wrist ...

Has more to do with the shape of the case back than anything else IMO. The Sub is more convex thank another other reference, and as such, works really well on flat shaped wrists.

Good to know, thanks. I'm going to pay attention when I go try on the BLNR.
