I think it depends on the style. An all gold with diamonds DJ isn't exactly what I'd call a jeans and t-shirt watch.

Great question. I recently bought a 116200 (Oyster bracelet and smooth bezel) after not having owned a DJ for 2 years. I previously owned a 16220 with a Jubilee bracelet that I decided to sell. I have found that the new 116200 (especially with an Oyster bracelet) is much more comfortable and sturdy than the older DJ's. It is lighter than a sport model (except the Explorer 1) and I have actually considered wearing it in non-dress occasions. I was off work today, and wore it out shopping with my wife while wearing shorts and a polo shirt. (I would have normally worn a sport model in this occasion.) The new DJ has changed my behavior !

I think it depends on the dial and bezel combination. If you have a Roman dial and the WG fluted bezel it looks like a dress watch. If you have the stick marker dial in a conservative color and the smooth or engine turned bezel it is a great daily wearer that you can wear with everything from tux to blue jeans.
