Makes sense, Rolex is going to tell one of their "Certified Watchmakers" what most of the Rolex fan base wants to know and trust he wouldn't leak that information.

AD employees never seize to amaze.

Everyone talks about the possibility of a steel coke. But given the BLRO, it would make more sense for them to release the coke in WG, maybe YG, maybe two tone. But not directly to steel. Don't get me wrong, I'd be first in line for a steel coke, but it doesn't fit their pattern.

Such info is a much more closely guarded secret than something an AD employee would be let in on. For obvious reasons. He could easily divulge everything anonymously online without any repercussions being one.

How many "Rolex Certified Watchmakers" must there be globally? Would Rolex rely on each and every one of them to keep tight lipped until the announcement? It would be like Apple letting all their "Geniuses" in on the info before launch announcement. I call BS.

No one knows but the mothership... We still have a couple of months until we see for ourselves.

I am thinking like the majority here in that will see more variations of ceramic Daytonas i.e. TT etc. Also the DJ41 in SS seems very logical. Very curious if we will see any type of anniversary model of the SD. Maybe a dial color, maybe a font color... I don't think a new SS GMT is coming. The BLNR seems to be selling very well.

During the conversation I asked him if he had any idea what Rolex would introduce at Baselworld 2017. He told me that he knew what would be coming out from Rolex as well as most of the major brands but could not divulge any information for fear of losing his job.
Is it true that he really knows and the threat of his job loss was real or was he just blowing smoke trying to impress? I really didn't care either way because I enjoyed the conversation.
He blew his credibility when he told you he was "Rolex Certified". In order to hold that title you must be an employee of an RSC. Once you leave employment of said RSC, you are a watchmaker. Not "Rolex Certified". Let him explain that!

I never said I believed him. And if he was blowing smoke, which is certainly much more likely, I didn't really care and I wasn't offended.
