Took my datejust to a shop in perth ,advertised as W.A premier swiss watch service centre ,to get the watch sized .
A lady looked at my watch and said "do you need a new battery".
I replied i hope not !!!!

I went into a local Jewellers back in Aus and was enquiring about getting my watch pressure tested (daytona) to which he had one look and said "wow did your money on that huh? should have bought a seiko you wouldn't be out of pocket for so much money".....

I was polite and said that it was left to me by my father who passed a month ago(he didn't hes still alive and healthy and enjoyed my story when i got home)

HMMMMM that was an awkward silence that that i enjoyed lol!
yes it was a horrible thing to say but he started it ! hahahaha

Now there's only one AD in the state, Providence Diamond Co. Ross-Simons isn't the AD any more. Would you know why?

I recall a debate I overheard at an AD where the customer maintained that self-winding meant he had to wind the watch himself.

I walked into the local small town AD wearing my 114060 and my usual summer attire...shorts and a t-shirt. I told the young salesperson that I was considering purchasing a leather strap for my Sub and asked her if they carried any. She immediately turned me over to who I assume, was the manager. The manager asked if she could hold my watch....I guess she wanted to make sure that it was real !! Then she said that the end links were not removable and that if so, removing the original bracelet voids the Rolex warranty !!!!! I played along, as I didn't want to call her out for being wrong and make a scene. It was then that she showed me an Alpina on a leather strap and since I "couldn't change the Sub to a strap", she suggested that I purchase one !!! It's my hope that she was just ignorant about the strap change/warranty, but somehow I get the feeling that she was just wanting to sell me a watch :( Needless to say, I won't be back !!

That was kind of you. Personally I have no problem pointing out incompetence since there is way too much of it these days!

Because having the right sized screwdriver is 95% of the job. It’s not exactly rocket surgery.
