Got the call yesterday that the next white one that my AD gets, goes to me. It's been 10 months waiting for me, what's another month or so. Stick to your guns and get the white one. I've had both on my wrist and I think the white pops out more for me plus I can read the sub dials.

Was same as you. However tried black on and purchased mine in October.

Spoke to AD yesterday and they have received NONE since ......no idea when they will receive their next Black or White dial Daytona.

Your choice, in an ideal world with plenty of stock.......but .......

I had the Black and sold it. I found it terribly difficult to read the time especially in low light i think the white is much easier to read then again I'm old

I ordered white on March 2016. Since then, my ad offered black twice and I refused and said I would wait for the white. Almost a year passed and I am still waiting. When I look back, I think I made a mistake. I should have bought the black and enjoy it until white arrives. Just my 2 cents.

I had ordered the white, got a call for the black, and am so glad I ended up with it. I love the white as it really seems to pop, but the black simply goes with everything. So classic yet sporty, I don't regret my decision for a moment (though I may end up getting a white one too)...

It sounds like he will honour your place as the next for the white. This would make me wait for the one I really want.

I was in the exact same situation back in November and went to check out the black when my AD got it. I passed on the black 166500 and he sold it the next day.
I decided to wait on the white; still waiting...

Go try it on. Talk to the AD and see time frame for the white. If you take the black can you also get the next white dial? If so, take both and figure it out. Keep both, flip one, etc.

Thought I wanted the white but once I saw the black in the metal, I knew I had to have it. Happy to have received it a few days ago....haven't taken it off since!

I'd just wait for white if it is what you prefer. This Daytona craziness won't go on forever, at least at this level. If you can't live without a Daytona for the next few months to a year, I guess black is your way to go...

Take black one and let the AD know you still are interested in the white one. When the white comes in, flip the black one.

The black dial is more subtle, classier and shows the incredible detail in the dial more readily IMO. Not a thing wrong with the white dial either!

I'm waiting for the penny to drop with dealers on this one.

Watchfinder in the UK now seem to be pricing the white dial higher, and I expect others will follow suit. Not sure if it's just me, but when I have a look on Chrono 24 there always seems to be more black dials for sale.

I am on good terms with a large AD, they have only had one white dial in since the release, compared to 6-7 black dials.

I originally wanted white and was lucky enough to get first on the list at my AD. The first one that they got was a black dial and the moment I saw it I had to have it. Don't regret it one bit. Firstly, I now prefer it to the white. Secondly, they've still not received a white!!
