Thank you to everyone who has commented with their advice and input, i have chosen to go ahead and buy my grail 116610 LN black submariner date in steel i can't wait to get it, also i am going to keep it for life and then i can see it increase in value also so i can win both ways.

I wore my SubC date for 10 years and sold it for about $500 less than I paid for it (granted, I was trading it in as part of my Daytona purchase, but still). Not sure if you'd say that's a good "investment" but it was certainly worth more than $500 to enjoy it for 10 years. Buy what you like.
