If my municipal water supply was excessively hard and I didn't have a softener, may think about bottled.

On old jeweler once told my wife to scrub her diamond ring and when done pour rubbing alcohol over it to prevent spotting on the diamond.

Clearly the bottled water issue has been addressed, but not one reply mentioned the BLOWDRYER. haha. I just use tap water when I clean mine once per month or so. Blow dryer? Absolutely not. The video was crazy. I will post a link if/when I find it again.
