I don't feel the 79090 and 1680 for example are all that similar actually so I don't think this situation would arise for me, they are too different and I'd buy based on merit and price as usual.

Thanks to those who participated and or voted. Based on the voting options 33.33% would buy or consider an eta Tudor Sub. , 66.67% an in house Rolex Sub. Interesting split.
