Is the Explorer II 42mm too big for my wrist?

So I just purchased the Explorer II because I liked the idea of owning a white dialed watch...but the more I wear it..I find that I prefer the size of my GMT II BLNR (which I think is the perfect size).

My wife agrees that the Explorer II is beautiful...but she commented during dinner tonight that from a distance it looked like an oversized fashion watch! So now having second thoughts.....

Opinions please...is the watch simply too big for my wrists?
