My last Rolex was a choice between those two.

I chose the 114060.

For the symmetry of the dial and the bracelet.

Sub. Once this "I must have the latest shiny bauble" phase runs its course on the BLNR, it will depreciate just as quickly as any other stainless steel Rolex. In that case, the sub will depreciate less in actual money since it costs less (i.e. assuming the same percentage).

The best bet really is to buy used. That's how you minimize your depreciation.

First Rolex? Then ND Sub. Just admire the symmetry and complexity of something simple and iconic.

Whether your buying from an AD or buying pre owned should enter the equation regarding your spread.

Right now the BLNR is balloned in value on the secondary market, the Sub no date is not.

For consistent realistic long term value, the Sub no date is the better purchase IMO.

Two of my favorites. Can't go wrong either way. You should buy the model you prefer. For watches, both will hold value better than most.
I was torn on a three watch combo and these two were both on the list. Ended up going 114060 and a 116613 LB for blue. Waiting for Basel to determine a GMT to add.
The 114060 is a great all around watch. The BLNR is also but feel more comfortable wearing the Sub to the gym and other similar activities.

Which rolex of the two should i get?

You think it will be your only watch, but you're just opening a can of worms... between the 2 you mention I would go for the GMT. But if you were comparing with a SubC Date, i would have said the sub! Value wise, the sub will always keep better value. Although the GMT also keeps good value, the BLNR is inflated and I fear that will drop once the hype and honeymoon phase is over!

Can't go wrong with either.

GMT for sure. The Date (for me anyway) is a must-have, and I love the GMT hand

X2. Between those two, I too would go with the BLNR for date, GMT, and splash of blue.

BLNR = Sub + date + cyclops + a little bid of color + gmt hand. It is a little more interesting and a little more watch, if you don't buy it for diving

I currently have both and the Sub gets far more wrist time. It's perfect.

I understand your concern, but resale value should be the last thing to worry about here. Get the one you like. It's too much money to spend and say "man, this is and ugly watch, but it'll be worth more in the future".

My thoughts too...I like my subs with a little sizzle to them.

Get a BLNR now (or maybe wait until Thursday?) and then down the road add a bluesy or LV-C.

BLNR gets my vote because it is the most stunning all-rounder SS watch, IMHO.

Forget about resale. I'd get the Sub as a one and only, but would have Sub date. If date is no issue, and GMT complication isn't needed, 114060 would be my first choice, and add GMT later.

IMO the GMT has a more useful complication....that and I think the BLNR is the best looking stainless 6 digit Rolex right now makes me say BLNR.

Of course the sub is iconic but personally I prefer a date and I think the GMT complication is more useful. The BLNR is a stunner so go for it!
