Sloppy job, I would not be happy, Accidental scratches are going to happen but unnecessary scratches from someone who is incompetent would anger me. Because its on the backside not sure if I would do anything about it but I would give them a earful.

Yours is a beautiful timepiece...where it in the best of health, but like others have said
this is unacceptable, sloppy workmanship that needs to be re-visited.
whomever did that needs to refund your cash and/or offer something to recompense you for your trouble.

You know, when I take my watch in to Rolex Canada for a sonic cleaning, I specifically tell the lady at the front desk that I don't want any scratches on my watch from the bracelet removal. The watch tech came out with my watch when it was ready and went over it with me specifically to show he did not scratch it, and in fact, showed me some swirls (that I was aware of) on the case that he specifically said he did not cause and were already on the watch.

I explained to him why I told the lady at the desk about this specifically because in the past I had heard stories about the indifference of watch technicians when it came to little things like this.

The repairer didn't take any care,or used the wrong tool. I have a Bergeon spring bar removal tool and this has a forked end to go behind the bar lugs, and once engaged is difficult to make it slip and cause damage to the lugs as once the tool is engaged, inward pressure is used to compress the spring bar.

For a watch of personal importance, I would only send it RSC.
I never like AD watchmakers, there was a previous incident which left a bad taste in the mouth.
I don't take any word now, crafted skilled of excellence needs to prove its merit.
RSC aren't always the most detail oriented either - I just got my watch back from Rolex Canada with two fresh nicks on one of the lugs...(details of my experience: https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?p=7523944), but i agree, I would be hesitant about the ad as well... At this point I don't really know who to take my watch to for servicing in the future...

This is a good idea! Did rsc Toronto do the cleaning while you wait?

Thanks for all your comments!
As the majority of you guys has reponded, I shall put it
on my experience list and enjoy the watch.
It's a bit frustrating when you trust your watch to
professionals, these things, but I will make sure to use another AD in the future and don't stress the matter
any further. It is an amazing watch, with or without an endlink that's re-brushed on the backside.

Here's the watch today, safe and sound. And waterproof of course

/David
PS. Thanks for a great forum!

By the amount of scratches that I see, the watchmaker made several unsuccessful attempts to remove the pin properly. This is TOTALLY unacceptable for a authorized Rolex dealer. I would ask to see the regional manager from Rolex the next time he visits the store. If they deny your request, try to find the regional managers contact information and call him yourself. I would not be happy with this workmanship.

Wow, I would ask AD to fix like it was New!

If not, contact ROLEX and show them the pictures and whch AD did this, and find out what polisher Extraordinaire name is...

None of this would have happened if you didn't need to have the watch pressure tested. That's the lesson learned. Stop fussing over your watch.

It does seem hard to believe that any competent watch maker let alone one working for an AD, would produce something like this. The requirement to remove the bracelet is fairly basic and you would expect the necessary steps to be taken to prevent this. As some have already said though, probably best to put this one down to experience at this time?

Where is the problem in the photos? I can't actually tell where the issue is.
