It's a very nice case for the price. Fits all my Rolexes and plenty of other larger watches that I own as well. It seems slightly roomier inside than the Casebudi, but I kind of like that, I stuff a microfiber cloth inside and give my watch a polishing before u put it on!

The Casebudi is $17.99, gives better protection than a sock, Size small for GMT or Sub (looks just like the old Oakley watch vault. I wear my watch while traveling, but put it in the Casebudi inside my carryon when going through security.

I would highly suggest just taking 1 watch only. If anything should happen to the one you wearing at least you have another 1 back home. This is exactly what I always do. You never know what might happen. Better to be pre-cautious. That's all.

I asked this question recently and the overall concensus was casebudi I picked one up for like $15 I can put my expII in it and throw it in my backpack.

I searched for this recently as well and saw that the consensus was the case budi. I bought two of them and have used them twice now. There is a reason people recommend them. They work perfectly.

FYI I also bought a pack of mini micro fiber clothes for camera lens cleaning that I wrap the watch in before putting it in the case budi. Probably not necessary but it makes me happy.

In addition to the other solutions already suggested, a Breitling or Omega service case also make great options to store a second watch during traveling.

I travel a great deal on business. I 'used to' take a second watch every now and again. Over time, I grew tired of the hassle (regardless of how well it was packed/stored) of having to concern myself with it. Much easier to simply take one watch and wear it. I'd rather place my focus and energy elsewhere.

I travel 2-3 times a year to Asia and I always bring my pair. I put them in Casebudi protective cases which I have been using for 3 years now.

It sounds like you have the solution. I also use a small "backpack" as my carry-on when traveling. When I carry a second watch, as I sometimes do on cruises, I wrap my second watch in a soft cloth, put it into a small Casebudi watch vault, and stuff it deep into a zippered portion of my backpack. My watches are insured so I don't worry too much. I think the biggest risk is that one of the security screeners will carelessly search through my carry-on.

Risky business, that...any time it comes off your wrist. I just travel with the one on my wrist for that very reason.

We just had a post by a member who lost his Rolex due to leaving his backpack, where the watch was packed, on a train.

I would think twice about your plan.

A word of warning !

In the Uk, so it may be different in the USA, your watch is only covered against theft if

a) it was on your wrist at the time

b) it was in the room the same time as you were.

I have a very good insurance but if I left a watch in the hotel whilst I was out doing holiday (vacation) things and it got stolen, the loss is 100% mine.

I advise you check your insurance clauses.

Regards

Mick

In the US, for every policy I looked at before choosing, theft and accidental loss is pretty basic coverage regardless of whether the watch was in your possession or not.

One watch and I wear it on my wrist. Helps if that watch is a GMT. Even better if it's my Pepsi GMT.

Oh and watch cases scream "look at me I am important". So travel with one watch and a beater if need be.

Exactly how protective are these casebudi, Oakley vault, & watchpod type cases? They seem nice, but I've always been hesitant to buy one. Hesitant, because they look like a soft case that wouldn't offer much protection to be throwing into a travel bag with other stuff that could be smashing against the case. I'm drawn to the case that Ritchie posted above, because it appears to be a hard case.

I have both Oakley and Casebudi and they're pretty solid. The shape of the case gives them a lot of strength. If you dropped a brick on one you'd probably crush it, but what wouldn't? Throwing one in your bag is fine. I certainly wouldn't be using a service pouch, those things prevent scratches but offer little by way of protection otherwise.

Only my opinion for what it's worth, I decide which watch I'm taking and it stays on my wrist. Back pack is too easy for someone to steal when you're not looking and I wouldn't want to read your watch was stolen. Enjoy your trip mate.
