Discounts like the OP is looking for could be had on the likes of Omega or Breitlling if you were persistent. However as everyone here knows. Not a chance on a Rolex. They are like chasing the end of a rainbow these days.

As an aside who has been offered 0% finance on a Rolex recently and where.
I asked for it last year after I tried for a discount and got the same answer on both.....NO !!!!

Yeh I find they used to offer 0% for 2 or 3 years on SS Sports...I was even offered 4 once on an SS Sub....now even that seems to be a thing of the past given the current market.

The big ADs seem to be offering finance but "low-rate finance" rather than 0%. 0% costs them money and they can sell most SS Sports models without having to offer 0%

Hang on a minute people - discounts can be had!!!! We have a member who swears this is the case. I won't name names but you've only got to look at previous posts (which include my contribution) and you'll find the said person. I'm sure if you tap him up he'll give you some excellent negotiation advice.

You see, it's not down to scarce supply and frenzied demand - it's purely down to tactics...

... apparently.

I was offered 0% about 7 months ago when I went on the wait list for a green sub. By the time the watch came in (last week) they said they aren't allowed to offer 0% on Rolex SS sports models due to the scarce supply and high demand. Basically, they don't need to offer 0%.

Worth noting that it is not the AD that provides the finance, so it doesn't cost the AD any money at all. The ADs work in partnership with a consumer finance company (typically Barclays or Hitachi Capital) who provide the customer with the finance. So the AD gets the full price at no cost to them.

The decision to not offer 0% on Rolex SS sports models is therefore a decision made by the finance company - they know they don't need to offer 0% loans for these models as some people would be willing to pay interest to get one.

I would jump on a plane to Schipol. Prices in the airport are very reasonable.

That would work really well, but for:

1) The collapsed Pound Sterling vs. Euro exchange rate post-Brexit
2) The fact you can't guarantee the model you want will even be at Schiphol
3) Unless you're already going there for work/leisure, Flights etc. cost money

I tried it several months before Brexit and it wasn't worthwhile - worked out about the same price, but at that time I could've got a Sub easily enough at home (although, that was the last one I saw in my entire region of the U.K. for about 6 fraught months afterwards - all ended well enough though ).

Oh yeah. Forgot about that !!

We are all poor negotiators then as one of our number did say they could get discount easily. :-)

They probably also forgot to say they owned an AD or their uncle did as well.

I wish we could all get discounts on SS watches, at around 20%. Would it all feel so special if we could though. As the saying goes the fun is all in the chase.

Well apart from wearing the watch for many happy years !!

Nope to discount as mentioned in many replies.
I found out that staff at certain ADs no discount allowed on SS sports models.
As they know they can be sold at full price, and with waiting lists the way they are.

I think from research I have read 10%/15% is fairly common discount to get?
Also would there be much discount available on the GMT BLNR or the Submariner LV models?
Thanks in advance
PMSL, good luck!

For the other posters discussing PM, just so you know I was offered 10% off immediately on the YG Sub - or interest free financing if I bought at list. This was I think in February this year.

Very hard for discount in U.K. Because they know the prices are low already.
Last I got for a rg Daytona on strap was 2.. 2.5%. And that is pm .
If you want a SS sport , don't even talk about discount because they might
Not even have one is stock. They don't even have a display for it . Lol
I'm talking about basic SS sports...none

Your only option to save on RRP in the UK is to go pre-owned, I managed to get a stickered unworn 114060 (but 6 month old) for about 5% less than rrp but more importantly I was able to buy it without the waiting lists that exist in my area (We dont all live in London)

If you walked into my local AD and asked for a SS sports model they would be dissmissive enough without mentioning any sort of discount unfortunately

have a look at Pistonheads (motoring forum) in their watches section

UK guy last week bought a brand new S/S Sea Dweller from an AD and received 7% discount off list

no discounts on UK S/S models then?

Something similair was mentioned over on TZ maybe the same guy, I'm a little skeptical not of the guy as he has no reason to lit but more it's most likely a one off possibliy due to it being a discontinued model the AD wished to move and not fully aware of the silly prices greys are asking!

Anyway either with or without discount grabbing a 116600 now is a result and something I bet he won't regret, I've tried sourcing another but had no luck (not at retail)

I personally wouldn't pay full RRP list for a SDc even with it being discontinued.

I also wouldn't pay list for an SS Milgauss, SS YM Rhodium, SS EXP2. I'd say if you found an independent AD you could squeeze a bit off on any of these in stock although it may take a bit of shopping around.

Watches that they'll be firm on will be :

SS DaytonaC
Deepsea D-Blue
BLNR
LV
Sub ND and Sate SS

SS GMT, Exp1, new Air-King, black Deepsea I think they'll be pretty firm on but you may get a token gesture if you bargain hard.

Depends on negotiation skills.

Yep I can second that, haven't purchased one but on two different enquiries I was quoted 15 & 18% off the WG DD40 (olive green dial so latest release back then)

I'm not sure which is the bigger wind-up here, the second referendum or things going back the way they were You have more chance of biting your own derriere than either of them happening

so, discounts are available if you choose your dealer and can negotiate?

even on the supposedly discount proof s/s sports models

'lists' are a load of bollocks believe me - i do wonder why dealers perpetuate the myth - probably marketing hype?

AD will sell to people with who they have a 'relationship' and know will not 'flip' the watch

and they will offer a discount on supposedly non discount watches to retain said relationship - such is the way of the business world

i had a call about an available Daytona and Sub - not interested, but i did say thank you for thinking of me

I am flying into Schipol this summer. If you are arriving into Schipol from USA, can you purchase without the VAT, or is it only when flying out of the EU that you can do that? Does Schipol have SS mens or womens models regularly?
