Congrats and I completely understand the AD's mentality even though it hurts me. My last Rolex purchase was in 1985 when I walked into the local dealer last August. First time in the store, despite living in town for 20 years. Got on the waitlist two days later (with 50% deposit). They were just opening the waitlist to non-customers. I was told it likely would be spring before I got it. I understand. I imagine it might by summer now, although I bought something else to cure my Daytona fever in the meantime (from DSW).

We'll see if/when I get my white one, just like your beauty. Enjoy it. I think it's the most beautiful watch for the money out there.

There is actually a 3rd waiting list as well, but that's super exclusive.

Best wishes again to the OP.

Is it just me...or does paying MSRP over the years (I.e. Thousands over say, a TS's prices ) make being one of the first on the block to have an cosmetically updated watch worth it?

My first Rolex purchase at full MSRP was for the DaytonaC and it was the only Rolex reference that I was willing to pay MSRP for.

When I did my fair share of research on the prices of the previous SS Daytonas and the current DaytonaCs, it seemed that the prices for new 116520s from TRF trusted sellers weren't that much lower than the MSRP, even though it had been a couple of years since the 116520s were released.

I can understand willingness to pay msrp for the Daytona C...if you are afforded the oppty and really want it.

My point was...is it worth paying full price for various watches over many years...to pay full price yet again to have the Daytona C now. Wondering when the hype dies down...will one have more luck getting the watch at msrp or slightly below that via more sellers?

At any rate, I'm the guy who over paid for a PlayStation II on eBay...so take my opinion with a shaker of salt. Unlike that device, clearly a Daytona will never go obsolete! So...enjoy the watch to the fullest.

Maybe I'll pick up a used one in a few years.
