Very True.... I was going to reserve my opinions after a wrist shot or two...hence the reason I ask for One?
But out of all honesty ..a few things don't look right to me...but I could be wrong ...and could be the angle of the picture? Love to see a good old traditional strait on wrist shot...If I was the OP...and I didn't have that warm fuzzy feeling inside after purchase...I definitely come strait here and post some great shots at different angles to see what my fellow brothers thought?

I bought a black dial from a trusted seller here. The AD is in Italy and so is my paperwork. Just means it came from overseas. No biggie. Enjoy it. I take all my non-AD purchases to a CW21 in my area and have him crack the back to authenticate them. You can do the same.

It's probably real but that unclear pic highlights one of the possible fake tells. This is faked very well but there will be experts here who will know, post more clearer pics please.

Rolex watches sold out of US are usually gotten cheaper.

This is typically how the grey market works.

Me too. Both pre owned watches I've bought from SoHAIS this year have AD's from Canada printed on them. I live in Miami.

OP, don't worry from the picture the watch looks genuine Rolex indeed. No one else but ROLEX can make a dial with this level of sharp detail. Congratulations on the purchase.

Forget Rolex tracker, it is nothing more than a data gathering site and has no affiliation to Rolex.

The route you have taken to buy the watch is by no means extra-ordinary. All grey dealers operate in the same way. Rolex AD sells a genuine watch to a grey dealer in order to move some of their stock. This benefits the AD as it's a sale, and they grey dealer gets a deal on the new watch and moves it on again for profit, where you, the buyer usually gets to save some money, unless of course you're buying a ceramic daytona.

It's a genuine deal, a genuine watch and you've saved $1,100. Whats not to like?

Wear it and enjoy it and spend the saving on a dinner out for the Mrs.

I buy most my Rolex this way and like you, just did the same with an Explorer 2 last week, except it's a black dial and I love it.

Is the AD on the card from Italy? (country code 170, 172, or 181). If yes, the booklets may well be in Italian. I got a Sub from Italy in 2002 and both booklets were in Ita.

In any case, if someone had the watch + card and then put some Eng booklets to make a full set does not mean the watch is problematic! As another member said, watches ship from factory in small clear plastic coffins with Styrofoam, accompanied only by the warranty card and green hangtag with the serial number. These are the only watch-specific items. The dealer puts together the full set (box and booklets) when you buy!

Not sure if this is meant as sarcasm, but I come genuine (no pun intended). It's not about eyesight, but knowledge. Look at the 12-6-9 markers: in order to lune those triangular/rectangular markers properly without overflow or uneven edges it's really hard, and only Rolex can do it (vs fakes). I would argue the biggest tell is the date window - only a true 3187 movement can raise the datewheel that high it virtually comes in contact with the dial, again, another sign of precision watch making.

I know it's almost sacrilege to say this on TRF, but if fakes can be produced at this level of detail, I'll take a dozen.
