Lifetime through Tumi?

Or lifetime while you maintain your membership at Costco?

I myself wondered about that.

I don't know about the warranty, honestly never had one fail, but I had an exceptional experience once several years ago. I had a carry-on, VERY old, and one of the wheels had started to wobble, needed replacing. I sent the bag to Tumi, asking for an estimate and said if it was $100 or less go ahead and do it. This bag was FAR beyond five years or any other warranty. Anyway I didn't get a reply so figured it was a write-off. Then, the thing shows up at my door COMPLETELY OVERHAULED. New wheels, new handle, cleaned, looked brand new. The best part? NO CHARGE. No note or anything, just completely revamped and looking perfect.

Not saying they will always do that and maybe the service department was high that day or something but it sure impressed the hell out of me! That is what started my love of Tumi.... OK! So it's an addiction....

If you bought it as a member it should be covered even if you canceled your membership 2 years later because your a member when bought it.
But maybe a different thread about this.

But I'm thinking about buying it anyways, but on the other hand if all the carry on luggage from Costco is life time satisfaction who cares what type it is if you can just take it back.

So the warranty is good as long as Costco sells Tumi? Tumi's is five years now, I foresee a conflict in the out years. Something to consider in context of Renato's post.

I have an Alpha 2 brief. That thing is indestructible. I'd get the carry on version of that in a second.

Hate to be the guy on the outside but after owning five pieces of Tumi, I would never buy one again. Over priced and warranty work was poor, if non existent. I don't own any Tumi these days except for my wife's and the broken junk in my storage unit. Maybe the COSTCO factor will enhance this experience.

They do make damn nice leather goods and wallets so all is not lost.

No. Costco has lifetime satisfaction guarantee on everything they sell as states in membership agreement. There are exceptions for some electronics due to how fast technology changes. If they sell you a small boat (canoe) you could in theory bring it back 5 years later ( receive cash that you paid it ) even if the manufacturer is out of business. Mines gives back cash even if you paid with credit card. Tax too.

Always Costco threads turn into buying 6 packs of mayo and return Rolex watch

This was done by a member here but I think it was like 10 years after purchased canoe

I have a Tumi briefcase, forget the model. Bombproof but smaller inside than it looks on the outside. I'd buy another.

Briggs & Riley is a great alternative to Tumi.

I didn't like my Tegra Lite international carry on either. I felt it was cheap and not worthy of the price tag.

I carry a Rimowa Topas Titanium now.
