I have eaten at Ramsay's LA place many times, Bobby's Vegas place a couple times, and Mario's original Vegas place. Of those I think Mesa at Caesars is best, but I picked Gordon!

Is Gordon rude to his guests IRL or is that just for the TV?

I have seen numerous times he gets incredibly offended (and offensive) if anyone goes off-menu or asks for a dish to be altered. It is like they are doubting his judgement

I've met him before and my understanding is that he is not like he is on Hells Kitchen to the extent he is portrayed. Back when Gordon Ramsay at the London (NYC) was open, we had a tour of the kitchen after dinner. The sommelier is a friend and he said he runs the tightest kitchens he's ever seen. As long as everyone is on top of their game, it's a very quiet kitchen.

Not sure. I never ask for alterations at a fine restaurant.

Yeah Action is a celebrity eater, not a chef so he's out in my book, but fun to watch

French Chef that (as far as I know) works and lives in Victoria Australia.
A very 'down-to-earth' sort of fellow who champions unpretentious French-style food.
Has had at least one TV program that I know of and written many cookery books (look him up!)

TV Chef - Anthony Bourdain! Love his TV series.

My distaste for Bourdain is boundless. His shows WERE interesting since they exposed me to foods and parts of the world I never know about. When he started making the shows vehicles for promoting his politics, in a most blatant way, I was done with him. He's entitled to his opinions but I didn't watch his show to be subjected to them.

There is a local guy in San Diego - Brian Malarky - who runs Herringbone, Seersucker and some others that we eat at. He is really a friendly guy, stops by our table when he is around. He has been a judge on some cooking shows like Guy Fieri's show, etc.

I've never had a bad meal at a Batali restaurant, and all experiences have been good to excellent. I enjoy his TV personality as well.

My wife and I tried Giada's restaurant in Vegas and came away underwhelmed. And this was prior to the meal we had at Joel Robuchon down the street which was so good I was crying tears of joy at the end.

Assuming you're talking about Restaurant Jöel Robuchon an not L'Atelier or Le Monde, I can completely understand. He and everyone that's been say It's by far his best restaurant. MGM gave him essentially a blank check to make sure only the best is served.

Yes it was the Restaurant. We've been to a couple of the L'Atelier sites as well in London and Hong Kong and they were pretty good, but the Vegas experience was bar none the best dining experience I've ever had. We went with the lowest end wine pairing and the som was excellent with his choices. I was stuffed by the time the beef came out, and they followed it with a birthday cake for me, and then the mega dessert cart. It was a shame as I had about two bites of cake and their policy is not to send them home with the guests. Hopefully the staff got to enjoy it later

I like Tyler Florance from the early days of the food network. Picked up a lot of good ideas and recipes from him.

Tried most of the food network chef restaurants in LV. All were good, but nothing really over the top great. Mesa Grill was probably my favorite out of the 4 or 5 we tried.

Iron Chef Morimoto's in Philly was by far the best dining experience I have had of the celeb chefs. I liked it so much I went 4 nights in a row...
