Perhaps it's the price point that makes them a tough sell. While it's less expensive than say a Pelagos or a Seamaster Pro, it's still rather high for a 2824-powered watch. Also, it's street price is around the same as a Seamaster Pro, and slightly more than a Tudor Black Bay. Nevertheless, there's nothing WRONG with the Superocean, and if you can snag one at a good price, they're an excellent sports watch. I especially like them on the rubber straps with a deployment clasp. Basic movement or not, mine is a consistent +1.8 to 2.1 seconds per day on the wrist or in the winder.

Bad experience

I have awsome Superocean II WR2000m, bought last year, under warranty. 2 months ago after swimming in my pool I found fog under the glass. The crown was locked for sure because I had to set the time before swimming. They say it wasn't locked according to water resistance tests, so I will have to pay a lot of $ for repair. Generally cool watch but in my case not water resistant at all:(
