I was timing laps at the Long Beach Grand Prix in April on my TAG-Heuer Carrera automatic. It is not a chronograph and it was not easy. Would have been a lot easier with a Daytona on my wrist. I would like to own one eventually.

I have spent a bit of time in the ocean with a mask and fins wearing my Submariner. Never used the bezel for diving but it definitely comes in handy for timing things while cooking.

I use my sub bezel daily to time activities. The triangle is very rarely set at 12.

Chronographs can be dangerous...

Used mine once to time how long it actually took the wife to get ready to go out to dinner. Usually empirical evidence is a good thing, but this was one case where it worked against me.

I do find the rotating bezel on my sub and yachtmaster really useful for timing things. Its much more visible/readable than a chrono would be because chronos would tend to have the counters in small subdials.

I seldom use chrono function on my SMP, which is quite useless for me because its sub-dial reading is not easy for my old eyes. But I often use rotating bezel of my blue Pelagos to count the time for walking or jogging every night. Besides traveling abroad, I always rotate the GMT bezel to check my relative's time in USA when I stay at home.

I used mine a lot when following races inc Le Mans recently, and a little bit when cooking or my wife timing hair related things, I kid you not.

In truth we all know our i-phone is more capable of the function. I never ONCE used the dive feature on my sub, nor have I ever needed the day function on my day date, but love the date-should be on all watches, I cannot imagine I would ever need the month details on an annual calendar either!

I rarely even use my watch to tell time anymore (im always on the phone checking emails, spreadsheets, database & leisure), let alone the chronograph. My phone does that as well, even better.
