Not at an AD.
But then again, why buy these watches brand new? They lose value about as quickly as possible.

Forget this bunch of reprobates, they’ll NEVER recommend a Hublot!
Buy what YOU like, and to hell with what everyone else thinks or has to say about having wasted your money, etc, etc – it’s yours to spend however YOU prefer, on whatever puts a smile on YOUR face.

I’m not a chronograph fan at the best of times, but the Classic Fusion twin-register is preferable to nearly every triple register out there.
The only advice you’re going to get on here is to buy one brand (or two – the other far beyond your budget) because it retains most of its money, or will make you a decent profit if you flip it straight away.

If you want to look beyond the Hublot, then check out the Parmigiani Fleurier Pershing 02 or Tonda Metrographe, and the Girard-Perregaux Chrono Hawk.
If you like the idea of a higher end brand name, and a $2K service cost isn’t off-putting, then look at the 2nd Gen Vacheron Constantin Overseas Chronograph (49150), especially the Ltd Edition ones – but they will be slightly over the budget, even more so if you add on the bracelet.
You should also look at the Glashutte Original Seventies Chronograph, with bracelet preferably, and don’t be dismissive of the Bvlgari Octo Velocissimo (Maserati Edition) or go cheap with the Diagono Magnesium/Ceramic – both of which use the Zenith El Primero movement.

I'd rather use my phone to tell the time than have either. Both are aesthetically disastrous.

Of the two, I'd say neither. Is a Versace watch even in the same realm price wise?

That's true it's just a signifier, I suppose that Medusa head is more its logo.

I would go for a JLC for a leather watch, but ideally I'd add a little more and look at a Lange 1815 or Saxonia. Nice partner to a gold subc.

I am 28 and that watch is very inappropriate for me! lol

Retail on that watch is around £1,060, but of course, I am not daft enough to pay RRP on that lol. More like a little over 50% off.

Save some more and get a Royal Oak 15400. With your black face sub, the white face would go well with it.

That's a lot of watches to look at. Don't Cartier suffer the same problem as Hublot? ie a mahoosive drop?

Thanks for that. A lot of watches to go though! Yeah I agree with the inherent hate for Hublot at this forum.

No problem. That’s because there are a lot of perfectly good alternatives to the overhyped Daytona, and overpriced (discontinued in steel) Patek 5980 – if your interest in watches goes beyond what its residual value is or how much profit you can make off it!

Like I said, forget about courting opinion on subjective matters like aesthetics – that’s a personal taste issue – and just buy (pre-owned or with the right amount of discount) whatever brand and model lights up your eyes.
That’s as hard as it gets, (said the bishop to the actress) when it comes to deciding what to buy.

If you can’t view a piece physically within your general locale, then make sure any distance purchase is done from a reseller with a solid returns policy in case it’s too big, doesn’t feel comfortable on the wrist, etc, so that you’re not lumbered with it.
Seeing as you’re in the UK, then you have an automatic right to return within 14 days of receipt (not purchase date), and you don’t even need to give a reason why, even though it’s common courtesy.

Researching your next watch is part of the fun.

I find Cartier hold value better than most(apart from Rolex). Such classic looking timepieces with great history(unlike that Hublot)
