Fluted bezel with Jubilee bracelet is in my honest opinion a fantastic combination. Yes it's a little more dressy which was my reason for purchasing and definitely not an old mans watch.

I love it!

So much I might get a SS to be my travel watch instead of my Sub or Big Pilot.

Jubilee is more luxurious and more comfortable. Fluted is more luxurious. I think I will go with fluted and jubilee (probably with diamonds) if I want to go with a luxury dress watch.

But as an only watch, and depending on how old you are and how you dress mostly, the combination of jubilee/steel or fluted/oyster might work better, and you can pic your preference.

I just did a search on Datejust 41 and came across this gorgeous picture that made me really appreciate steel/jubilee combination. This really looks sharp and luxury, and it is comfortable.

And this is my idea of luxurious, beautiful dress watch to wear with a suit.

As you probably may have guessed from your research, and majority of posts in this thread, this is a matter of personal preference. The best research is always metal-on-skin. It's actually the best part of the hunt. It's completely free to walk into a dealer and handle the pieces. Even if you can't afford one yet(and even if you can), there is no commitment to buy or be sold just because you walked into an AD. Salespeople will be salespeople; but you are still the customer. Go be a customer and happy hunting
