So yes, I guess my aspirations put me in the CEO/President or business owner boxes. Not to mention the knowledge and connections I'd like to gain. And for either I think an MBA from a few programs may be worth the time. So, for an Exec MBA that has cohorts 1wknd a month it appears Kellogg is the cream of the crop. There's also Harvard's Pld which isn't a full degree but makes you a Harvard alum and gives you access to their resources... options options. My wife tells me to go to the local university for the ease of it, but in my mind if I'm going to go, I have to go all out.

If it were me, Chicago over Northwestern all day long when it comes to recruiting and network.

Go the best you can afford or get into. At the end of the day it's all time (thecwork isn't necessarily more difficult) and volume of workload. Might as well sh&$t bricks for a good uni than mediocre. Don't be intimidated. I was by far the dumbest guy in the class and the average GMAT was 706

I just started an exec MBA, and I'm enjoying it so far. I'm at a good school with a great network, which is what I feel like you're really paying for.

For me, I'm trying to move my career in a different direction. I was in the military and now work in project management, so I've never had to look at financial statements, balance sheets or income statements. I'm looking forward to learning the financial aspects of business.

I'm using my GI Bill to pay for mine (though I'll still have to pay some out of pocket), so it was an easy decision as to whether or not I should do it. Not sure if it's worth it if I were paying for it all myself.

That's what I recommend for anyone seeking advanced degree's and don't be afraid of looking for a more specific master degree program instead of an MBA. MBA's are fine, but if you like doing certain things, specific to an area of business then pursue that rather than the management of that. JMHO
I agree with this 100%. MBA is great (I have mine) but if you can specialize in a certain area that you enjoy doing, that is where the real money is. Only flip side is sometimes the "requirement" is MBA not MS. 100% depends on where you see yourself in 5-10 yrs.

Good luck in your search
