Ugh. I had the same thing happen to a GMT while I was on vacation in Hawaii. Put a massive dent in the case. Rik at TimeCare laser welded and fixed it like new.

my best advice is to scold her like a child, and remind her of this episode once or twice a year going forward, usually during unrelated arguments that you feel like you might be losing.
