Excellent story, Gerardo! He sounds like a very intelligent young man (takes after his dad) and you should be proud. He's SO right. Life's too short to "baby" these possessions. Live to the fullest, use, and admire these fine time pieces we saved up and waited so long to get.

Great lesson and thanks for sharing G. Nice to see you sporting the Daytona after the encouragement from your son.

I remember a good friend of my Dads wearing a 16803LB (predecessor to the 16613) back in the early 80's. We were Salmon fishing in the Puget Sound. I told my Dad that I would have one of those someday. He told me I could have anything I wanted in life if I worked hard and saved. That this kind of thing should not be gifted but earned. I had pictures on my wall and even though material, this was on my goal list. Once I started my business as a young man, I put away a little here and there and in 1987 bought a brand new 16613LB. I still remember that day on the water. My dad has always been a hero to me and this is one of those father son teaching moments that has stuck with me. Thanks for reminding me!

Great story. Thanks for sharing. Your son was able to see what we as adults many times miss because he was not bogged down with too much history or life experience.

Beautiful G - While the thoughts are his, they are a reflection of your hard work as a father and your wife as a mother - The two of you should be very proud.

Gracias a Dios y a la vida por la fortuna de tener padres maravillosos!
(Thank God and Life for the fortune of having marvelous parents)

Cheers G!
