The fact this is seen as such a big deal to many on this forum is scary and hints at the underlying neurotic obsession we seem to have with a mere possession.

I understand being mad at oneself for slightly damaging the expensive watch but really...

Needs some laser welding. Send it to Riki.

Sorry to see this. If you do decide to get it repaired (likely what I'd do)...please post some after pics. Seems like this would be an easy fix for Rik, LAWW, or ABC...either way...it could have been worse.

As tough as it may be, just leave it alone. Not much can be added to the good suggestions above. A new case or polishing it to death would be the other other options. In your shoes I would try continue enjoying this watch.

Safest location for watch has always been on the wrist for me. I learned that lesson a long time ago in basic training when I dropped my watch in the shower as I was drying off, knocked my Hamilton onto the tile from a 2.5 foot bench and shattered the glass. I shower with my watch rather than risk it falling on the tile. Even the shock of firing a weapon with the watch on the wrist or operating a sledgehammer or mattox is nowhere near the shock of hitting an immovable ceramic surface like tile.

Another vote for leave it

It's on the underside of the case and I'm sure not as noticeable as the close up pics

How much would a new case cost?

Send Alfred out for another one. Doesn't he look after the batman? Seriously though, I'd learn to simply not care and accept it. In fact embrace it. You'll find not being possessed by possessions liberating. Lazer welding? Are you kidding me? It's just a watch and no one will notice that while you're wearing it.

Going by a couple of the replies the dent can be massaged out slightly by a trusted watchmaker. In any case (no pun intended), enjoy the watch the way that it is.

I would wait a few months and if it still bothers you, then look into some possible measures.

My opinion is that that is nothing to be concerned about.

This. No rush - wait a few months and see how you feel. Make decision accordingly.

The only upside to this is that if you had dropped an Omega DSOTM causing an impact that dented steel that way, it would probably have been a total loss (And a case is almost 7K)

so...Rolex spends all this time marketing and research about watches that can go down 4,000ft under water, but yet can't make a case that can go 2.5ft down on land.

I’m in the just wear it and get over it camp. That’s a pretty big flaw to ignore but the pain will lesson over time and is part of the story of the watch.

You’ll be telling that story for the rest of your life, may as well have the watch that inspired the story.

Message Dalton here on the forums. He can laser weld that dent and reshape it good as new. I sent him a few pieces that this has happen to and after a few weeks got the watch back like nothing happened.

That would bother me as well but I wouldn’t take a massive loss. With time, these things become less apparent. I think these are viable options to minimize the appearance of the damage.
