ROO Dial Question
Hi Chaps,
After much agonising I finally pulled the trigger and picked up a ROO today! My first one, going to do a full thread later. Absolutely love the watch, but had one quick question on the dial. The numbers on mine are silvery/grey but on the pictures of others I've seen they are black. I've attached a picture, any ideas? I think it's a 2014 version. Thanks!! |

A trusted independent who I've had quite a few watches from. It was with box and papers, and had just been returned from AP (as in I saw him open the sealed box from AP addressed from them to him etc)

Haha yes they do look like diamonds in the pic can assure you they aren't! Just grey/silver with a texture to them. Have pinged a message to the seller to check, I am sure there's a viable explanation magnificent watch, can't believe it's taken me this long to buy a ROO

Numerals are a dark grey so no problem there, your dial also looks very light, almost copper, but this could be the lighting as your numbers too look funny and shiny. Pretty sure this is the real thing but better pics would help clarify.

thanks chaps, does this zoomed in image help at all?The numbers just look a bit - well......strange??
As mentioned it has just been returned from AP, so I'm pretty baffled. There's also a weird mark just under the 6 on the sub dial - this is why I prefer to buy new, massive OCD when it comes to this kind of stuff..... |

Those numbers together with the circular mark on the sundial would worry me, even if the watch is legit it must be one of a kind and could cause you problems as and when you come to sell it.

Your watch is genuine but something VERY odd is going on with those numerals!!!
**Return it ASAP!** Look at these for comparison: **Those numerals are BLACK or DARK dark grey, yours have "bubbles" that are LIGHT grey, nowhere near black!! Extremely odd, I've not seen before!! I would be unhappy and absolutely not tolerate that!! Your watch has shingles!!!** |

I have never seen one like that, and most of us here have seen dozens, or even hundreds. I would be surprised if that is not a faulty dial, add in the blemish on the sundial and that is a watch I would return as soon as possible.

Looks as if the numbers were exposed to extreme heat and or corrosion. Definitely return that piece ASAP.

Thanks for the comments all, genuinely really appreciated!
I sent the zoomed in picture to the seller and he said he's never seen anything like it either! Going to return it tomorrow, and given my slight OCD nature and the minimal price differential when buying from a non AD have asked if I can pay a little extra for a brand new one! Will save the incoming thread until fully resolved :-) Thanks again! |

Glad you’re getting a new one. My elephant looks nothing like that. Wonder if it got moisture in it before the service and somehow bubbled the lume. Don’t know why AP wouldn’t replace it when it was serviced unless the previous owner told them to keep the original dial. I had a small mark on my dial after service and AP quickly replaced it.

Yeah that’s what I would have guessed. It will be interesting to get AP’s explanation of how this happened to the numerals. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I don’t think AP had anything to do with it. It was a used 2014 watch. The question is what did the original owner do to get the dial like that.

Hope that the seller doesn’t give you any issue with the return - indeed the seller should have picked up that there was problem and not offered it for sale |

Some people seem to remove the case backs, maybe that was the case here and there was significant water damage?
