I think the # on the bracelet is not a serial #, but the model #. Since they match it probably was not swapped out. You should have 78490 bracelet (I have the same one). The new one is 78590 (GMT IIc type).

Fernando, just noticed that you graduated from QCOM. I graduated in 2004 and am currently finishing up residency at UT Memphis. Small world.

I picked up my V series black SS Daytona today!!! My clasp is exactly the same. I wonder if we have transition models? I have a GMT IIc and can't tell a big difference in the clasps. In less than a month, I have received calls on a Daytona & GV Milguass. Weird...

Yes it is a small world. JC is a great little town, in fact my father is a psychiatrist and still has a private practice there. Quillen holds a lot of good old memories for me. After finishing at Quillen, I did my residency in OB/GYN at UT Chattanooga (Erlanger Medical Center). Now I am in a private practice in VA.

How about you? What kind of residency are you in?

I had a good 4 years in Johnson City. I found my wife there!

This is my last year of Radiology.

For Daytona users:

Do you keep the stopwatch function on or off?

Firstly congrats congrats Fernando on your new Daytona, wear it in good health.

Not to steal any thunder but it's definately not the newer clasp, but for the life of me what was wrong with the older clasp.

Your going to get a lot of different responses on this one. I run mine when I'm wearing it and stop it when I take it off. It will not hurt the watch to run it but you will lose power reserve when it's running.

72 hours with chrono running
66 hours turned off

Congratulations

I run the stop watch function from time to time, just to get the parts moving. but it's off most of the time.

It's the old clasp. I compared to mine and the dimension is about the same on the clasp.

Run it,
now and then for entertainment and
sometimes for its actual purpose.
Ahh! The magic of the Daytona.

I just like watching the pretty, shiny hand go round and round. Especially while I'm driving.
