My dogs don't get a fancy diet. They get Purina by the 60lb sack.

2 120lb Dobermans are expensive enough without putting them on a gluten free, vegan, kosher, halal diet.

They do however get all our meat trimmings and leftovers boiled up into "dog soup" (as the wife calls it) to keep them off a purely dry diet. They also catch slow wildlife and bite the occasional visitor.

Our vet says they're in great condition.

As far as we're concerned all our pets both dog and cat get raw food only. When looking for a good supplier you need to make sure they are preparing the food to human consumption grade and that it is a balanced diet. If you have these 2 issues covered then it's all about finding the dish or dishes they like best. Other benefits of raw food diet are more efficient absorption of proteins and nutrients, (stool sizes are also reduced), healthier coat and teeth.

I have a picky eater. When he was a puppy I fed him orijen puppy food then switched him to raw food (Darwin’s) at around 6 months old. He stopped eating raw eventually after I tried a few other brands and never could get him interested again. Currently eating Go! Limited ingredient salmon and I add in stuff like canned salmon, chicken or beef. He also gets kefir, coconut oil and Greek yogurt at times.

Absolutely (especially during the summer months when seasonal fruits like peaches and boysenberries are readily available). Not so much during the wintertime.

Our 6 year old boxer is fairly picky. We usually have to mix dry with a little can food.

That is, until we found he loved Wellness Core Raw Rev. It has freeze dried raw protein bits and he doesn't need it mixed. Not cheap, but he likes it and the reviews are good

Thanks again guys.

I stopped at my local pet store after work and bought a small bag of Orijen to see how my dogs liked it. I gave them a small handful and it seems like they love it.

I just hope that this is a truly high quality product.

At $3.60 per pound you could buy fresh meats for your pooches.

Thanks. We will ask a different vet at our clinic.
