I looked up your post, and found the AD... I’ll give them a call on Monday. Congrats on the new sub btw!

Thanks JM0127! I’m glad I held off on pulling the trigger on a gray market BLNR. I think will a modest amount of effort I’ll be able to find one for $8950 delivered to my doorstep.

They'll ship overnight too for no cost.

Awesome! The other AD said they would charge $50-75 to ship. Hopefully the BLNR you tried on is still unsold.

I've not been by there since I was there earlier in the week as I'm in New Orleans for Mardi gras. Hope for the best. Maybe they can source one for you from the other stores. If not put a deposit down and they'll order one.

I think you have got it all wrong here...

Here what you're pointing out is simple GREED by people. Nothing more then that.

People find a BLNR or LV at retail or less and then run home and posted it up here on TRF for a profit. Denying the person who really wants one from being able to purchase it from that AD at MSRP. It truly sucks ...

I'm not talking about Trusted Sellers either.

Yeah, people are trying to make a quick buck... which makes it harder for someone like myself to get one to wear and enjoy. I don’t mind paying MSRP if it’s from an AD or someone like DavidSW, and have my name on the warranty card... but I’ll pass if a BLNR is going to cost $10k second hand.

This is what I'm doing, I could buy a new BLNR tomorrow at a bit of a premium, but I'm trying to build a relationship with an AD, for future purchases.

Absolutely ridiculous that I should have to schmooze some salesman to buy a watch.

People have different reasons for doing things, not all of them involve greed. A brand new Batman listed in the forums for $9500-$9900 isn’t that lucrative for whoever is selling it assuming they paid retail. And if you buy a new one delivered for under 10K in the classifieds assuming you’d have to pay sales tax its about the same money. For example if you bought the watch in NYC at sticker which is what most ads are getting you’d pay about $9675 with tax.

Or $8950 if you buy in NH or any state without sales tax...

Fair enough. However that’s the exception for most not the norm.

I will stick with AD. Paid Mrsp just few weeks ago. Greys today just posted 2013 model for way more than I paid for 2018 will full 5 yr. warranty. Ridiculous this is Blnr, not a ss Daytona.

I have wondered where are all these "BNIB with stickers" watches are coming from.

I don't think most people buy (or are gifted) a new Rolex, never remove a sticker and decide to resell it. There must be some sort of business model where greys and AD salesmen maintain a special relationship.

I'm not judging, just speculating.

I would assume a special relationship with white envelope.

I think it’s right place right time. I bought mine from an ad that had it in stock for a month. I’m selling it now because the watch I really want became available after I purchased my Batman. The asking price basically recoupes my total cost. If I don’t sell it this week then so be it. There’s worse problems to have.

Rolex fans created their own bed, now it is time to sleep in it. Stop feeding the overpriced second hand market with your impatience and things will get back to normal soon.

I agree, if I pay ~$1000 over MSRP for a gray market or second hand watch I’m part of the problem. Glad I’m getting some help from fellow TRF members to find a BLNR for MSRP. Most of the ADs I spoke to out of state said it would be $8950 for the BLNR delivered at my doorstep... plus I have the security of using my credit card and earn airline miles without paying a 3% PayPal fee.

Personally, I do not think poorly of dealer buying up stock. This is a luxury item. And a business decision the a dealer is making about his or her business.

List is $8950 and tax, so these people aren’t really making a killing. If you don’t want to wait, $9500 sounds fair as that’s what you’d pay assuming no the AD doesn’t discount.
