Let's see now. The next generation Submariner/Deep Sea could get this one.

Even if I was 12 I would still think the name wouldn’t work.

Sky-Diddy has been my favorite nickname since it’s birth.

But he insists on wearing that iced Day-Diddy...

I find it's real name bad-ass to begin with. Why toy with perfection?

Already referred to as "The Raven" - you guys are a little late. The other colors are Snowball and Bluebird.

Thanks but no thanks :-)
Skydweller has a great ring to it, especially for those who know nothing about Rolex and ask... I enjoy seeing their reaction actually.

"snowball" is corny:
- what a nice watch, what is it?
- we call it... SNOWBALL

Ya no lol

They're all corny ... where you been the past 20 years? Batman, goofball, Blusey, Hulk - relax, it's for the kids.

Grown-ups call them by their proper names.

20 years? Let's see...

1998: getting close to finishing first degree
1999: finished my first degree
2000: finished my second degree and closed out my DJ career
2001-2008: entered the big world of consulting! Lot's of travel too! Visited Chile, Argentina, Peru, Brazil, Mexico, 'Murica, Jamaica, pretty much all of Western Europe, all over Eastern Europe and Russia, Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, Egypt, Morocco... those where the day!
2009: MBA... tough year, even for grown-ups.
2008-2016: ran my own consulting business, that was fun. Felt like a kid again. Got my first Rolex in 2016 actually.

Now, I work for "the man" again but I'm enjoying my snowball errr my SkyDweller...

I find it funny when people complain about "superhero" nicknames and mention Kermit. I don't see Kermit being a superhero.

I don’t feel strongly either way about the nicknames. Do the people who hate the Hulk & Batman names feel as strongly about Coke/Pepsi?

Once upon a time, certain watches were nicknamed after real people (e.g. Daytona/Paul Newman, Explorer II/Steve McQueen, Seiko 6139/Pogue etc.).

When folks ran out of 'real people' to name watches after, various cartoon characters, colorations and Muppet cast members entered into the fold. A harmless gesture but idiotic to a certain extent.

With the proposed 'Black Panther' designation, we are now moving into an entirely new realm. Where it all ends, who knows?

yeah for some reason those always get a pass. I think 20 years from now people won't think twice about the nick names of today. The ones that actually stick (i.e. Hulk & Batman, not Black Panther lol)

As I mentioned above, what about all of the delicious and poisonous sodas people named watches after? Coke, Pepsi, Root Beer. I also think naming watches after people, is circumstantial. The D-Blue is slowly being made famous by James Cameron, in fact a lot of people call it the James Cameron DS.

Again, only time will tell if the names stick, but I hardly think anyone "ran out of real people" to name watches after.
