Bluesy or black dial, can't miss selections.

But also to add, agree that TT for an only is just perfect. Especially a sub. Can go anywhere and do anything.

I like the symmetry of the GMT bezel better and prefer the easy link clasp. Once properly adjusted very quick a perfect fit. With the glide lock I always need at least two attempts.

The nicest TT Rolex ever made imho.
Excellent question. It’s because the Sub’s less busy dial seems to lend itself to a dressier and more versatile look. That GMT is a beauty though!!!

Definitely. I rocked a two tone sub (black) every single day for years and years. No problem. I went to blue recently though and prefer that now.

If I could have only one watch, and it had to be a two tone, this would be the one.

Absolutely. I did no problem.

Much as the blue gets so much love on here, As an everyday, the black is a better choice IMO. And I would agree, it’s a little more subtle than the TT GMT.

I had to chose between the black TT sub and the TT GMT. Blue was out as it’s just not quite as “classy” as the black and more in your face, Not an everyday for me.

Went with the Sub because the bezel is less busy and I just preferred the look (and it was. Sub).

If that’s your fathers choice OP, it’s a great one and an ideal everyday watch

And it’s beautiful

All Rolex watches are daily wearers.

He just needs to choose the one he likes best.

Thank you for that wonderful anecdote. It seems like this watch will be a great choice for him and it’s certainly a beautiful watch

I got my first (and to-date only) Rolex, a TT BF Submariner Date, from my wife for Christmas and I have worn it daily since. Beautiful watch and I am proud to have it. I retired a little over a year ago and it’s my “celebration” piece - a good career and sound preparation for retirement. Being retired means no more suits for me and I am happy to report that my watch looks just as good with a sweatshirt or a sport shirt.

I had a TT GMT 2 for many years before I got my second Rolex, I did wear it a lot but my general Daily was my Tudor Chronograph with the blue face. Although the TT came out every weekend and every evening I was going out somewhere.

Two tone Blue dial submariner

The two-tone Submariner with a BLUE dial offers both the toughness of the 904L stainless steel that Rolex uses and the prestige of a gold watch simultaneously packaged into just a single watch.

It’s blue faced sunburst dial has a textured effect involving brushing the face in a radial pattern – as opposed to linear, contributes to the sophisticated feel of the watch and gives off some funky patterns under different lighting environments.

This is a great first Rolex and offers more class I feel than the black.

I have a BLNR and am thinking of adding the TT Sub. I like the versatility of the gold and stainless to go with different hardware in loafer and belt buckles -- there will always be a match.

Two-tone as only watch?

Can’t go wrong with it as a daily. Tell him to go for it.

Yes this is a very good choice for a only one watch owner.
I like blue but I think black is more versatile and classic
