You're right, I thought my 10+ y/o old rebel had one but it's got a zoom.

I never really found the fish-eye lenses to be all that appealing to me even with the crop factor of my camera's image sensor.
Actually just this past week I was in a small restaurant with wall to wall people sitting and standing and waiting. I really wanted to photo it but even with the 22mm I needed a much wider fov. I really wanted a fish-eye for the job. Of course we all have different ideas for what we want to image. It's a shot that I missed and will likely not have again. I know many people consider them gimmicky but there are some applications that pretty much demand them (night skies for example).

Not sure if you have a Canon or not, but the new 10-18mm was a lens I had considered before switching to Nikon.

I find the distortion distracting from the image. The only times they really work are for wide city or night sky shots. I notice a lot of real estate photographers use them and then straighten the images in photoshop but this is so easy to spot in the pics. It does not represent the true image at all.

Canon but M5 mirrorless; the shortest lens that is offered by Canon is the 11-22mm which is a great lens but in the full format equivalent is more like a 17-35mm zoom. The standard lenses can be used with an adaptor.

I know about the LR/PS routines to remove the distortion. Clearly the lens is a niche lens and isn't for too many shots. When it's needed it's needed.
