I've always had a few watches at any given time but typically one "nice watch" that gets the lion's share of use. From 2001-2008 it was a series of three steel Daytonas, the last four years was one just like your's.
I wore it all the time and anywhere, doing some activities with it that would send many people here apoplectic. It's a rugged watch like all Rolex sports models are, never missed a beat, and still looked grand when I sold it.
There's a certain addiction to collecting but the older I get the more I see the folly in it. Good luck with your decision.

Good Luck! I wish I could be....I think I could drop to two my Daytona C and Explorer but I'm not sure I could drop to one.

This is something I've always wondered about. My main issue is my Explorer. Being that it was my first Rolex (and my first true watch at that), I couldn't bring myself to sell it. Even then, I'd love to test this out with the right watch some day.

Honestly, I wish I could be a one-watch guy. I’m just too fickle. I love the Daytona, but my (poor) memory requires that I have a date window. I’ve seriously considered a Speedmaster with a date for this purpose. My almost-daily is an Explorer II, but I still have a few others in reserve for when the mood strikes.

Daytona is definitely one that can do it.

I’m with you. Exact same for me. The AW is becoming so useful now. Sure my 116500 is beutiful and will only go up in value it’s pretty useless relative to the Aw. I can only imagine what’s in store for the AW.

For me it would be the SubC (114060). I've had a love affair with Subs and vintage 911's for as long as I can remember. I've owned Daytonas and they are just not for me. Again, this is just me. Daytona is a great watch, and you can't go wrong with it for sure.

Congrat on the fine SS Daytona.

One watch idea didn't work for me...at one point wind up with three 116250 (2 blk 1 white). Back then seemed I live on TRF lol!

Haven't bought a Rolex for nearly 10 years...don't you think it's time?

My favorite daily wear is the 16610 SS Sub date...something about it...my first.

Welcome me back

Great looking Daytona, good luck with the one watch thing. I envy the person that can pull it off as I'm looking to get down to 8-10 by year's end.

Just look at the top left of your daily post. It shows you the date. Now remember it all day.

No one said anything about changing straps. One watch with many strap options, starting with black ...

Enjoy what you're doing, be interesting to see the watch on one of those new Oysterflex bands.

For me, Daytona is the one, and has been the one for 25 years, just took me that long to finally pull the trigger on one.:-)

Great shot!

Good luck OP! I think if I had my grail (Smurf) I could see myself becoming a 1 WG. But for the time being I enjoy having a rotation.

Looking good - I'm 3 weeks into my first Rolex, the Daytona, and it hasn't left my wrist...can hear the sobs of my Longines, Omega, Tag and Seiko weepy weepy from their wooden box on the piano, just need a violin to complete their sorrow.....
