Same happened to me in London last November, she was not saying it straight out but more like 'let me remove all these stickers for you' and it was done.

It is a Rolex rule and they are supposed to follow. Now are there exceptions? Sure not all AD's are following as evidenced above. My guess is the way Rolex has been with tight inventories and fewer SS sports watches being allocated to squeeze grey market most will follow the rule in time. I really don't see why stickers being on would make a difference to people unless they were focused on flipping. Clearly that is the reason for the rule. Personally I wouldn't pay a penny more for a new watch with stickers than for a new watch without them. People are crazy though and clearly the market dynamics have proven that in recent times!

PS there have been numerous threads on this so it isn't like this is new news.

I never flip watches, but I simply like to peel the stickers off and size it at home. Might even be a deal breaker for me. People are crazy indeed

just thinking out aloud, so if you buy the watch and theres no disclaimer prior to the sale of said watch and the stickers whilst being removed by the AD causes damaged.... who is responsible? the new owner or AD? also once removed who retains the stickers?

If a Rolex gets damaged removing stickers then perhaps we are all focused on the wrong brand.

My AD removes all stickers. This applies to DJ models and sports models.

Bought the same model Explorer back in December. AD removed the stickers as , according to them, Rolex's instructions.

Buying a watch with stickers, on a grey market, I'd feel safer because I've not seen or heard fakes that're able to have them on as precisely as the way Rolex did.

Not a deal breaker. Withholding the warranty card is a different story.

It's normal for some AD's to mail the warranty card. I've purchased several this way and it's really not a big deal.

I was refering to ADs who keep the warranty card for a certain period to try and prevent flipping.

I had had the same experience in Dec 17 with my UK AD when I bought a SS GMT II, removed the stickers immediately and then resized the bracelet. Explanation given at the time was they had had customers returning after a few weeks saying the finish on the watch had tarnished only to realise it was the stickers fading/getting dirty.

I understand their point with this but this practice is total BS. I buy it. If I choose to sell it, that's on me. I don't agree with this at all.

Yep. First time that they’ve ever done it, but kept the warranty card for one year. Yesterday’s purchase of our “second” Daytona C from my uk AD.

but do you know exactly what, where and how a gen Rolex is stickered ?
If it's a trusted seller with a good reputation, there should be no cause for concern.

Sorry am a little new to this stickers on a Rolex. Or just that many stickers on a watch (besides the case back and sapphire). Don't understand much about it. Able to share some info on this?

I say to don’t use sticker like a guarantee that your Rolex buy from grey market are really a genuin watch!

I bought a new Sub ND from an AD in SE UK last week and went home with all stickers left on for me to remove at my leisure. I asked if we could keep the stickers on and they said 'fine'.
Guess it depends on the AD and client. FYI, this was my first time dealing with this AD and my first Rolex....

Chat with ad today

First of all I apologise if I’m repeating anything already said in this thread, replying after page 2.
I had an interesting conversation with the manager of an ad in Florida this morning. He confirmed stickers would come off and that they would hold the guarantee card for 30 days. The guarantee card issue was in case of watch returns. I should state that I accept that I may have misheard and therefore cannot 100% confirm accuracy but he said that if a watch was returned and the guarantee card had been issued to the customer then the watch/guarantee card would need input from Rolex to be reissued.
We chatted about the low availability of sports models, in particular the ss Daytona and his view was “why would Rolex want to produce more? They’re a private company/charity and are happy with the way things are, if they want to make an extra million it can easily be done but money may not be their main focus”
I get exactly what he meant and it makes total sense to me and sadly I think the wait for the SS Daytona will continue.
Further to the sticker/guarantee his view is that there are flippers who would buy in each of his stores make $1000 flipping each (Subs) preventing customers who want to buy and keep.
I wish it wasn’t this way but I don’t think it going to change very soon.

I was told the same will happen when my Daytona spot comes up. Doesn't matter to me as I plan to keep it forever.

The AD sized my bracelet but left the stickers on. As soon as I got home they all came off.

Why not simply send the watches out sans stickers in the first instance?

because i wouldn't buy a watch all scratched up from tons of people trying it on. Not a huge issue with SS as those move quick but ive seen PM sky dwellers sit so long that the stickers are starting to peel and light scratches are visible on the watch.

But the stickers don't protect most of the bracelet, glass or bezel anyhow and a lack of stickers doesn't seem to hold back Omega and other premium brands.
For my part, when it comes to premium watches, I wouldn't pay full list for ex. stock items for exactly the reasons you state since I want any scratches on it to be part of my history with the watch!
