Surely you must know that the Big Crown without the crown guards is the hallmark feature of both the original James Bond Sub Ref 6538 and Tudor Sub ref 7922 , both highly sought after by watch collectors. Don't you get it ? Serious watch collectors are not looking for pretty watches! Those watches don't pay "Big" money! Part of the allure is the preservation of its ancestorial DNA that codes the quirkiness of the Big crown which in turn makes the smiling ETA Black Rose such an exceptional and outstanding timepiece
That’s poetry!

I recommend to any buyer make sure at minimum you get the correct box and The warranty card. If your lucky and get a receipt from an AD even better. The box and paperwork is what proves what you have and in the future will be priceless. The correct box btw has the black laquered exterior with brown interior. I’ve seen Black Bays in Pelagos Black Leatherette boxes which is a dealer mistake.

I wonder who that One individual is? I agree with your assessment but in addition something else makes it even more valuable
Try and Zoom In on the photo below and see what's printed on the card. Just imagine that innocent word on the card alone means the watch is worth even more....

I've only seen this discussed in one of the threads by another member on here. I haven't read or seen anything to substantiate this outside of this forum, especially as the majority of FS threads that I saw (prior to and following this rumour) all seemed to have the leather strap. When I was looking for my ETA BBN, I wanted one on bracelet and it was definitely harder to source than an example on the leather. The leather is still being produced as an option for the current version, so realistically having a pristine strap in the future would be relatively easy to accomplish as an individual could order a replacement for their strap. Yes I understand that it would also be determined by what was on the card, but I feel that having a pristine example with a strap will be less rare in the future than a pristine example with a bracelet. Just my $0.02

I’m not a true collector I was lucky and got one of these and I’d like a second but that’s unlikely. I’ve heard the collectors want the strap as there are less enough times now to believe it. At the end of the day I’m just happy to own one period.

I was going to say the same thing. My bracelet shows wear as I don't anticipate banking on the BBN to cover my retirement needs.

That would be quite cool though if you could retire off a BBN

Damn. I think you will single handedly put these over $6000 and out of reach for most buyers.

I’ve been thinking that the people selling these watches right now are going to kick themselves. These things could be worth several thousand more in just a few months why flip them now?

However, it was actually hard to let go of that black bay on bracelet today. I think I am gonna keep the next bracelet one for good.

Apologies if I’ve missed it, but has there been official confirmation on the production numbers on the 79220n?

I would say that would be a fitting name based on the fact that you have found 4 in what a week?!

Keep one of them this time around!

Did I miss the memo? These had been discontinued for awhile, haven't they? Why the sudden spike?

Sudden spike due to speculation on how many of these were actually produced. Further speculations on how many were sent out on bracelet vs. how many were sent with leather straps as well.

the 'less than 3000' is pure speculation and BS ? What makes some think this is correct info ?
